Another week of the Grandmasters tournament is over and we've now completed the Round Robin portion. Six players from each region will move on to the Seasonal Playoffs. The winners of each of these three 6-man tournaments will find themselves one step closer to the Hearthstone Global Finals and a chance at the $500,000 prize pool.
- The best record of the Round Robin stage belongs to Fr0zen at 12-2.
- It was a rough stage for 3 of the 4 former World Champions in the tournament. Firebat (4-10), Pavel (4-10), and tom60229 (6-8) all finished near the bottom of their groups.
- Hunterace continued his hot streak, finishing 1st in his group with a 10-4 record and securing a first round bye.
- This week saw only four classes being represented with Rogue(17), Warrior(14), Mage(13), and Hunter(4).
- Blizzard has announced that the Global Finals will take place at BlizzCon in November to crown this year's Hearthstone World Champion! Details below.
The playoff portion begins next Friday. With three remaining from each region, who will come out on top? Comment below with your picks for Season 1!!

"Around the Fern" w/ Frodan & Dog
For anyone who hasn't been following the Grandmasters to this point, you've got to check out this interview between Frodan and Dog. It's definitely worth the watch!
Quote from BlizzardWe’re excited to share that BlizzCon will be the destination for the Hearthstone Global Finals this November! 8 players will duke it out at the Anaheim Convention Center in sunny California for their share of the $500,000 prize pool, the trophy, and the title of Hearthstone World Champion!
Both end-of-season playoffs will qualify one Grandmaster from each region to the Global Finals, meaning three Grandmasters will qualify through the Season 1 Playoffs, with three more qualifying through the Season 2 Playoffs. The final two players will qualify in through China’s Gold Open Series Playoffs, which will take place on July 20 and October 6.
Goodluck lodi Staz!!!

Embarrassing digital content.
They were trying to make that interview around the fern super awkward right? That was their intent... right?
It might be worth taking a deep breath and reconsidering criticism of a meta-game which only features four of nine classes - the competitive scene in a game like MTG, which features far more deck-building diversity than HS, regularly boils down to only four or five decks which can possibly be piloted to a top-8 finish in a field of any substantial size. It isn't obvious why HS is to be criticized for simply succumbing to the familiar laws of attrition. After all - when hundreds of thousands of dollars are at stake, perhaps it's easier to understand why the folks who are actually competing are motivated to pilot competitive decks, rather than placate a fanbase that honestly doesn't give enough of a shit to bother thinking about the baseless criticisms they thoughtlessly finger-blast onto casual fan-sites like this . . .
So much fun watching the same old 4 classes and decks with no creativity ResidentSleeper
Why Paladin, Priest and even Shaman did not appear in the Tournament???
No reward for creativity bro. So sad, :(
You wrote Hunterace got a 9-5, which is clearly untrue if you just look at the final results. His wins against Orange were great, too, so missing them is a shame.
Am I the only one who doesn't give shit about e-sport as long as we don't get packs for it ? :v
No, there are sadly other trolls, you're not the only one.
damn dude did you just call that guy a troll? I'd hate to be on your bad side man, what a savage :0
it's your right to not like the esport scene, it's our right to love it and follow it
No, but you might be one of the only ones who feels the need to open eSports threads to tell people about it.
Sad to see Thijs only one win better than Pathra and bottom of his group...
Omni also very clearly the worst HS esports team, with Firebat, Zalae, and Pathra all getting absolutely destroyed.
Blah Blah Blah esport. We need articles about New expansion XD
