Deranged Doctor
That was the true hero in Dogs' deck ^^
You are forgetting one important detail here : A tournament isn't exactly like your standard ladder
Well...if what was said is true, then changing from Paladin to Mage most certainly did help him win the tournament. No disrespect to his skills, but if he ran OTK Paladin, it would have been over on Day 1 for him.
Hopefully this is all false, and he can enjoy his win. As I said before, this tournament has turned me off of the specialist format.
Dog cheated. Deck list were leaked and he changed to mage to counter warrior meta.
From Battlefy
We are investigating claims of exploits regarding the Battlefy API w/ respect to the Hearthstone Masters Tour. The use of exploits in games and supporting platforms like Battlefy violates our terms of service, tournament rules, and most importantly, the integrity of competition.
There were a group of people who leaked the percentages of all classes brought to vegas through Battlefys API. Battlefy is a third party tourney client used for this tournament . The problem with this is that there was still time to edit your decklists. If I can remember correctly, about 40% of people brought warrior. Several people switched their lists to counter warrior because of this. A lot of pros are saying that dog originally had OTK paladin, which is an almost unwinnable matchup against warrior. It’s almost sure hat he would not have won this tourney. However, he switched to non cyclone conjurer mage list as it’s much better than warrior. If nothing was leaked dog doesn’t win
Frozen seem to contradict this when he talked about their deck testing/choice during the live broadcast.
I'll wait for more evidence...
You do realise deck building is only part of the challenge. Dog earned his title by winning the most games and no one can take that away from him. I'm not sure if knowing how many warriors are in the tournament constitutes an unfair advantage.
That's a really BOLD statement. I mean that's bordering on slander especially since you have no hard evidence he did that. Players have switched decks at the last moment in MANY different tournaments and formats and games. That's why there is a timer which gives you a specific amount of time to change right up to the point of the timer expiring. Why they change or don't change you cannot say because it's not YOU making the change.
More importantly is that nobody needed to leak or read that info that the field was going to be a majority of Warrior. Any halfwit could have figured that out just from the state of the meta. Also do you honestly think DOG is going to play the deck he is taking to 100K tournament on stream for everyone to see? His practice partner is FROZEN who consistently brings outside the meta decks that he never discusses or plays for others to see.
Nice fake witch hunt you are keeping alive from some butthurt troll reddit post.
Big if true
Dog won the tounrament with a deck he should never have used. He didnt get punished for his wrong deck selection - but that's exactly what should have happened. That's how competition works.
BIG Part of the challenge is choosing the right deck and assessing its risk against all other decks. That's no less important than winning the games. It's always about risk and reward.
Knowing exactly which decks you encounter in the tournament is a GIGANTIC advantage
Biggest problem here: People love dog -> deserve the win.
Edit
Nah, the data complied over tens of thousands of games gives better insight than individual GM players; do we really need to explain variance in detail for you people? Cards like Spirit of the Shark has proven this, certain lists are weaker and the data is simply there; ignoring it is the definition of arrogance, to think you know better than the fucking facts.
Dog is our good boy. Congratz!
Good boy!
rurururu
Gratz Dog!
Good Doggo, redeeming yourself from last year! 🐶
