Hello everyone,
We’re excited to welcome HearthPwn to the Magic Find family and we’re very happy to announce that the site will keep its doors open! We’re a small independent team of people who worked on gaming websites in the past and are teaming up to build up new communities together.
Over the next few months we will do our best to ramp up improvements to the website and work together with all of you to improve performance and work on developing new ideas.
Acquisitions are always a bit strange and come with a lot of questions, we’ll do our best to answer them and we hope we’ll build trust over time and improve HearthPwn together.
If you have any suggestions or issues you’ve identified on the website, now is definitely a great time to let us know about them!
Not a good way to start off here. You didn't message any of the previous mods nor Flux when they were removed. Discussions only happened after you removed them.
We did, and as I mentioned before I personally informed Flux of our plans for Hearthpwn (I offered for him to join us but he declined, as Out of Cards already existed).
We've had to demote mods due to abuse of power happening, from certain people upset by the change of ownership. I'll repeat it just to make it crystal clear: If anyone feels wronged by these events, reach out to me (DM or Twitter). We're here to make friends. But abusing mod privileges to vandalize the site is not acceptable, so as a measure of security during the transition, we demoted all mods and are reinstating those who wish to stay on HearthPwn.
Iv finally returned from my work trip, so im catching up on all the things that happened during this week. Wall of text inc :)
First of all, i would like to wish you good luck on your endeavor, i dont know you, i dont know how you got to be here, but i know it will be a challenge and a lot of work, we will see if you can deliver or not, one way or another.
That being said, you can consider this my official notice (even tho i am not a mod anymore already), since you like to communicate via article comments and not private messages so much. You said you contacted us, you did not (excluding Flux ofc).
It would have been really nice, id even say a honorable thing to do, to have been contacted and thanked for months and years of free work we, the voulanteer mods, did around here, if nothing else. Obviously we did it because we loved the community and wanted to help make a great site for everyone, us included. We didnt seek some kind of special recognition, but being demoted without a single word from the new management and having to read the explanation in the comment section is very poor management skills to say the least.
Anyway, i myself will be transferring to Out of Cards as far as my main focus and home base go from now on, but i plan on staying around here and keeping an eye on how you treat the site and its users and see if you do the job you set out to do. After all, monopoly is never a good thing and healthy competition is good for a customer :)
Cya, Sinti
I must say I agree. I was aware that some things that weren't supposed to happen, ended up happening, but i didn't think i would end facing the consequences, having done nothing wrong.
Having had no approach, nor any other form of communication from the new owners feels terrible when you've been moderating the forums for this many hours, just to be flushed out with the bathwater.
Hey Sinti, sorry to see you go, and you're absolutely correct. Please know that as someone who, in my early years, also volunteered as moderator in a very similar community (MMO-Champion in fact!), I have a huge respect for what you folks did up to that point. So thank you so much for helping the community get to where it is. I hope we won't disappoint.
I forgot to message you, I'm sorry! You're welcome to stick around, as is any other previous moderator. Please DM me if you're interested and we'll chat.
While I'm happy the site will still exist, I feel the change could have been handled much better overall.
This debacle gets a yikes from me, dog.
good luck without Flux. if he aint here then those that love this website will remain with him. and in this case its outofcards. sorry
Good news!
Welcome, please talk with some of the old admins and convince them to join back, they were doing a great job. The Innkeeper app hasn't been updated in some time, either repair that or make the hearthpwn work with HSreplay. Did the site came with a contact at activision blizzard? Ask them for some free stuff for us. :P
...
Good Luck!
Long as you keep innkeeper running (imho that should be number 1 priority) and previews updated, I welcome the change and appreciate it!
BYE! When a site acts like some prepubescent bipolar girl you know there are way too many issues!
Whoever has bought this site, best of luck to you! You are definitely going to need it! Let's hope that it was an informed decision at least.
Well....okay then. :/ Fuck off to you too then....
Well after seeing this news I am somewhat taken aback , honestly I am torn here, I love this site because I am so familiar with it, but it is the original staff that made it so good and by the way things seemingly transpired it is sad that Hearthpwn will "Restart" as it were on a sour note. All I can say atm is I wish everyone well and hopefully in the end it will be a fresh new start for both sites, I will wait and see for myself how things move forward...
i really don't understand this whole Flux story and i think no one will every know besides them, but people bitching and moaning about them leaving and saying they should've taken over has to stop for all we know he could've offered to little for the site(its like saying would you sell your start up business for $1000,000.00 or $100,000.00) which offer would you take...........i don't know Flux long enough to be so loyal to move over to out of cards but i will be using both and see which one comes out on tops, i will more than likely stay with Hearthpwn only cause i'm use to the lay out and like the design of the site.
Flux was told there would be no sale at all for any price, the site was going to be shut down completely. Price was not a factor in that discussion, he was just flatly shut down by Curse. I have no idea if that was because these guys had already agreed by that point and Curse didn't have the stones to admit it, or if they decided later for some other reason.
You're still obviously welcome to stay, but there are the facts around that event as they are in the public arena.
Please fix the issue with the ad redirect on when I view this website on iPhone. It goes to some random page and infinitely redirects so I can’t press back.
Good, I use hearthpwn only for 80g trade Kappa
