May 22 Card Nerfs Are Live! Rogue + Archivist Elysiana Nerfed
The patch has arrived that brings us nerfs to three Rogue cards and Archivist Elysiana. As usual, mobile updates will come later in the day.
Card Nerfs
Four cards have received changes with today's patch. You can learn more about the reasoning behind the nerfs here. Cards nerfed are disenchantable for full crafting value for 2 weeks.
- [Discuss] EVIL Miscreant - Now has 4 Health (Down from 5)
- [Discuss] Raiding Party - Now costs 4 Mana (Up from 3)
- [Discuss] Preparation - Next spell cast cost is now reduced by 2 (Down from 3)
- [Discuss] Archivist Elysiana - Now costs 9 Mana (Up from 8)
sorry but this is not a card game with counter-spells (not talking about the mage secret). Dont expect for people stop checking the combo decks as problems when the combo enabler is too easy to cast into an almost imposible situation. Right now mage can put 4 absurly state minions on board when standard decks cant dealt with big board. Conjurer is not the only card (the one that summon two 6 cost minions can hit the 5/12 but is the fastest spells to do it so...you really wish that card remains untouched all season?.
You have 2 cards that work in the same way but the one that cost more cant be use as ward removal and can only get you minion of one cost. If dev team designed Power of Creation with 8 mana in mind there is not reason for keeping Conjurers Calling on 3. Both cards have the same board impact and the second one is also better...
You can't nerf something into the ground and not be expected to reap the aftermath of post nerf metas.
Should be a good mini make up call / nod back to what happened during the Jade Druid meta.
Nerf Jade Druid to get Razakus priest then Tempo Rogue. This community never ends complaining about a deck. You instantly get a nerf that is live and immediately find something else to complain about. It's disgusting really.
This might be an unpopular opinion, but I actually like it when they force the meta to change as often as possible. It doesn't really matter to me what is the best deck when I get to enjoy a new one every month or so. You're right about the endless complaining, of course :)
Prep nerf is horrible since rogue spells were over cost. The only way this makes sense is make the expensive rogue spells cost 1 less to compensate.
why sometimes Blizzard refund dust and others don't . how these things work . enlighten me pls
They always refund dust on nerfs.
Actually they do not refund dust on nerfs, they just give the full dust value at disenchant. They refund the full dust value when HoF'ing, without having to disenchant.
salim594:
what maybe confuses you is nerfing and HoF rotation.
HoF rotation: they give you dust for what you have in your collection. that means free cards or free dust. (and you better have some dust to craft missing cards!)
nerf: you do not immediately get dust. but during a grace period of 10-14 days, you can disenchant the nerfed cards at a higher value (their crafting value). e.g., instead of giving 100 dust, disenchanting an epic gives you 400 dust. There is no downside to craft these cards before the nerf if you want to experience playing with them. but you cannot *gain* anything by crafting them.
i.e.: you should, now after the nerfs have gone live, log in, DE all your preparations, evil miscreants, raiding parties and elysianas. then you wait for a few weeks and recraft the cards that you still think are good/give you joy.
(good news: if you crafted cards before the nerf you didn't loose any dust, as you can DE them NOW for as much as it costed you to craft them. even golden versions)
Been playing my old list of tempo rogue, with togwaggle, and still do well. Needs skill to pilot rather than autopilot, but that’s how a rogue deck should be: hard to pilot but strong if done well.
After time and time again, rogue is nerfed, inevitably, for the 8th bajillion time
So long, Valeera. We had our issues, but it was nice knowing you. Maybe we'll meet again someday.
i still dont get that they didnt nerf conjuers calling or whatever its called... mage is now so broken
More than likely an unpopular opinion, but its Mountain Giant that might be the issue. Conjurer's Calling works as it should, giving a strong swing turn with the right setup. Mountain Giant is a card that can be cheated out and retain its mana cost. Do some tweaking to that and Conjurer's Calling will still work like it should. Spells are Mage's identity and its allowed to have a powerful one.
Changing a classic card that has been around since the beginning and is a solid card is NOT the answer. You change the card that is really causing the problem with is the Mage spell. However that being said we have to see if Mage will become dominant enough post nerf to warrant such a change.
They literally just changed a classic card that has been around forever. They've done that A LOT. I'm not saying that they nerf the card in anyway, but they could change the way the cost is recognized once it is played for lower mana.
This. And all the other spells are balanced around getting -3 from Prep.
Sprint and Vanish feel so bad now.
There goes my Thief Rogue deck. I might just DE those cards and try to make something else.
DE them anyways, you can always craft them again
prep bloodlust sick combo incoming
you mean coldblood?
