So now Mecha'thun Hunter is possible with Hunter's Mark Arcane shot
Would be super inconsistent, since it would only ever work, if Mecha'Thun is exactly the last card in your deck. So I doubt, that there will be a Mecha'Thun hunter.
Double Galvanizer for mecha'thun into mecha'thun + goblin prank always worked
could work with a baleful banker if you draw mechat'hun early, might not be super consistent yet fun for sure.
Regardless of what you think of these buffs, here's the bigger point: they're willing to do buffs!
Guys, this is the best news for Hearthstone in many years, seriously!
Will this help Warrior? Are some of these a mistake? Okay, okay, but listen: now the door is open. The can buff a few cards here and there, probably from a set that has been out for about 6 months, to inject some changes into the meta-game and give weak cards a chance to shine. Some of the current buffs may prove to be bad, but isn't it awesome that they're willing to try?
Exactly my thoughts. This way they can control the meta better. There are lots of mediocre decks that can be tier 2 with small buffs.
All changes are good changes! Will some of these cards (Sn1p-Sn4p first and foremost) be powerfull and make some classes even overpowered? Probably! But that‘s no bad thing imo!
Blizzard has to be brave sometimes if they want to impact the meta in a meaningfull way. And they certainly are this time around.
The biggest reason for my excitement though, is the fact that blizzard is willing to change things more OFTEN! This means we can have fun with those overpowered decks for some time and can be assured that they will be fixed in some weeks again! Hell yessss, say goodbye to stale metas that don’t change over months.
I keep coming back to this announcement with mixed feelings.
Buffing cards like this is - in principle - extremely exciting and a great idea for keeping the meta from even approaching stale. It's wonderful to see Blizzard allowing themselves to take advantage of the digital format we're in here.
Buffing certain cards is bewildering. Why in the name of Yogg are we buffing two extremely good options to discover off of Dr. Boom, Mad Genius? Now magnetic targets are even stronger. Why are we making Pogo Hopper 1-mana? This is going to make wild rogue a potential horror show, and standard rogue is going to find a new champion to keep it up top in the meta. Crystology is already a great card, and now it's busted good, though it remains to be seen if paladin has the power to follow up on this potential.
Most of all, how is it a good idea to introduce SN1P-SN4P in a world where Reckless Experimenter and token decks exist? Why would you give this card echo!? This should have something along the lines of "playable again this turn" like the Twinspell cards. This card is busted good. If TTK priest doesn't bring standard back to last expansion's combo-or-aggro meta, token shaman or druid certainly will. Even mech hunter might get a boost from this new legendary.
Every time Blizzard does something that seems to offer some balance (like the nerfs possibly allowing control to exist outside of warrior, who is better off with bombs right now anyways), they point their gun at their foot and fire away.
I sincerely hope I'm wrong on this, but these buffs could bring about a repeat of the Rastakhan's Rumble meta. All hail midrange hunter, all hail combo priest. Welcome back to the past.
This comment needs more attention. This was a complete oversight on Blizzard's part. Now all you need to do is have a mech stick on board and have Reckless Experimenter and SN1P SN4P on turn 5 (or even turn 4 with the coin) and it is literally game over...
ON TURN 4....
I am hyped, finally blizzard, well done!
Nice, buff warrior more. Its hard enough to kill rover as 2/5 and with one point of life more it will be impossible to one shot him. And new legendary in warrior means a lot of 2/3 minions with rush or 6/9 minion with rush. Too much power for warriors. Blizzard love them.
....speechless....amazing direction for the game.....will actually come back to the game for a bit I think because of this....ahhhh man I'm so stoked!
not bad , now we can play more fun decks !!
I am more excited now than at expansion time. Blizzard making unplayable cards more playable and nerfing all-powerful rogue?? The meta seemed pretty fresh if you weren’t playing rogue already, this is an amazing breath of fresh air again. I think mage will be really strong with the Pocket galaxy nerf; there are some rad combos to be had here. Pogo rogue comes back to the map.
Hunter with another 4 mana 3/6 that is actually decent in its current state could open up some powerful plays as well!
and a FREE GOLDEN that is actually good? The mech package in almost any deck is insane right now, adding another strong magnetic card is really good for those deck builders out there. I think this card will be plugged in as frequently as ziliax. And if you don’t like it, 1600 free dust!
thanks blizzard!!! I will be excited to play the game this June.
Well, it's nice to see some buffs instead of nerfs for once, but as a Warlock player, I'm quite disappointed. Dr. Morrigan probably still wont see any play, bacause it's not only overcosted, but also it has no actual use in current meta. You can play her now for 6 mana... and achieve what? Cheat out one heavy dude like Deathwing or Hakkar, the Soulflayer? Darkest Hour is doing kinda that (but much better) yet the deck itself is like Tier 3 at best...
Spirit Bomb was decent even for 2 mana and cost wasn't a problem. The problem is, that it fits only in control archetype, which is non existant at this moment. Control Warlock needs more healing, not even more ways to kill himself...
It’s a bit slow but with this card you’re running an anti-fatigue game plan and pulling out your Voidlord, Malgannis, LK, emperor, doomguard, possibly reshuffling them in with plot twist to pull them out again. It’s a new control tool that possibly renolock runs for value.
current standard warlock can plug this in to their bertrug plot twist deck and pull out a minion that sticks to the board. No one did that before because it was an 8 mana 5/5. A 6 mana 5/5 is a bit different but could be more playable now.
a buff is a buff!! It will get played somewhere!
darkest hour lock was actually as highrolly and annoying as big priest in wild. i know that nobody cares about wild. also i'm sure cubelocks will surely take the spirit bomb :D
I think maybe gloop sprayer just got nerfed, since at 8 mana you can get Gonk and Gloop Sprayer with psychmelon for the wild Gonk-otk deck. And you never play gloop sprayer for its full cost anyway.
Finally, blizzard is listening to the community
The only buff i need is to modify the boss with thrice hero power overload on heroic dalaran heist, its just too strong
