I almost fell out of my chair when I saw this title. Holy cow, they did actual buffs! Many many thumbs up! OMG!
This may be the best Week for Hearthstone ever. Receiving pretty reasonable nerfs, to establishing precedents for card buffs, to introducing new cards alongside non-expansion events. Not going to lie, I've been kinda moving off of Hearthstone recently, but this really wants to make me play again. Great job Blizz!
*** positive feedback ***
I lived to see this day!
Keep going Blizz, THIS kind of update is what we are looking for many years ;)
My first thought was that the date on my computer was wrong because it says May and not April 1 :P
Buffing cards is a great idea to stop meta getting too stale (though no idea what the impact of these buffs will be on the meta if anything).
Does seem a little strange they are all Boomsday cards given a recent article I read seemed to suggest that was already the expac with the most frequently played cards outside of basic/classic since the rotation.
Maybe the other expacs will get the same treatment in the future?
Remember kids - don't rush to dust as crap cards could get playable if this trend continues.
Does anyone else feel that Beryllium Nullifier was already fine?
I do wonder if the new legendary might be too strong in control warrior.
After Dr Boom is played it's:
Turn 3 - 4/5 worth of stats with rush
Turn 6 - 8/10 worth of stats
Turn 9 - 12/15 worth of stats
And so flexible with magnetic and small tokens to clear board with fine granularity.
It will not be worth a deck slot in CW. It's too mediocre before Boom. After Boom, many more things are even better and you probably don't need this to win the game.
You probably right :)
Warrior didn't need any buffs, but to be fair every class got them.
Am super excited for the Arena changes, i love how it cycles frequently now. It's going to be a Mage-Fest tho, just like the old days. Firelands Portal coming back and Unstable Portal to name a couple.
Paladin would like to have a word with you. Between Shielded Minibot, Muster for Battle, and Murloc Knight, I can see Pally being top of the pile comes the rotation.
Thank god for the Pocket Galaxy buff, that card's effect has so much potential for some cool decks. Especially in wild. Would love this card to see more play in the future (especially as a mage specialist). This is the buff I'm looking forward to the most.
After the most recent agro/pirate rogue deck just took a huge hit with the nerf bat it'll be interesting to see if POGO rogue finally becomes a thing with this buff. Then again with rogue meta players generally favoring either agro or tempo rogue at best they'll probably still view Pogos "too slow".
Crystology and Pogo-hopper will be cancer.
I probably prefer getting killed by bunnies than killed by leeroy
Why is he on your profile picture then?
Cause he's fun and balanced only when you are the one using him
If this is their solution of making the metagame fresher in-between expansions, then they are stepping in the right direction. This also brings more experimentation with the Necromechanic and Dr Morrigan buff so that's also nice. I hope this happens again in the next expansion this year.
So are they going to be disenchantable in their original cost?
no
