This looks pretty darn good. While the Dungeon Run was interesting it left me wanting more. I have enough gold to buy this one outright but would totally spend the $20 for it based on what I have seen of it thus far. I am really looking forward to checking out streamers playing this to see if it lives up to the minor amount of hype that has been generated for this thus far. And while I feel like the content alone should be what we expect from this I also feel like just tossing out card packs like it means anything to us at this point is a mistake on Blizzards part.
Don't get me wrong, card packs are fine, they are basically just extra dust to many players, but I almost feel like the carrot at the end of the stick should be shinier. Why not give us a random unattainable card back that we missed out on when we finish each of the paid wings? or just one would be fine when we finish the final wing.
I still feel like they should add a new currency, lets call them "hearthstones" and the adventure could give us one or one per wing that could be spent attaining unattainable hero portraits, card backs, or even full older card sets that you would not be able to dust so you could more easily complete a wild collection. Add these to chest rewards at the rank 5 and above monthly, add them to 12 win arena runs, add them as solo content rewards, add them as rewards for heroic brawls, just don't make them pay to win.
Anyway I am sooooooo looking forward to the solo content.
=D13=
p.s. If you are someone who wants something akin to this content and you have Steam check out Slay the Spire.
I just wanted to say that paying 2800 for 15 packs, a golden pack and a golden Zayle is feeling a bit underwhelming. Usually, when you pay for arena you break even at 3-3 (which is extremely easy to get) and get your value at 7-3(which is a little bit above half the wins from all the wins you need to get the max reward). I do apreciate the idea behind it, the gamemode seems really fun, but as a f2p, hoarding all this gold for this seems sad to me. Almost all the other games try to overpay what you initially pay when it comes to something like this. A good exemple is MTG:Arena which has gamemodes that feature twitch streamers or youtube personalities (not trying to sellout but it's the truth) and you pay something that makes you feel good even with a 1-2 (max rewards at 5-2). Arena is good as it is. Tavern brawl is amazing as long as you keep creating new things and don't recycle old gamemodes every other month, but this new "Dungeon" type gamemode was good because it was free. It gave players something to test out the new expansion without wasting gold (not going to include the tavern brawl that doesn't even come 1 week before the new expansion to have fun with the new cards before buying them..) I cannot look at this new singleplayer content without comparing it to Naxx or Blackrock Mountain which were amazing and it felt really good completing the story. Didn't even matter if some cards were bad (Rend Blackhand etc), it felt good getting something out of the story that was FROM the story.. This time we get packs. Simple, plain packs. I don't know if this direction was better then the old one with the Adventures. But this feels wrong to me. I hope you can enlighten me if i am wrong..
TL;DR The video is amazing. The content not so much..
I wanted to say the rewards not so much
The content seems fun! But the rewards not so much..sorry, my english is not that great
I saw "new cinematic" I was like "wait, we already have the second expansion cinematic?"
Do I have to pay 700g as well to watch the video?
Shh! Don't give them ideas!
How does dr. booms nose fit into the helmet?
cinematic is not bad, but there are still doubts
Thiese HearthStone cinematics are better and better, I hope one day they will make a whole movie :D ^_^
That would be awesome! :D
It's better to make cinematics than fix the meta #Smallindiecompanylogic
The balance team and the team for cinematics are different people, did you know that?
What will be the rewards from the adventure? What's the incentive to buy it?
After each wing you get 3 RoS packs and after completeing the whole a golden pack, a card back( normal and heroic) and Zyra
Rewards are what User said, incentive is that and gameplay so basically it's like a mini single player spinoff game within the game.
Ok, how much will each wing cost?
One night in karazan's wing costs 700 in game gold or 7 dollars.
So i would guess around that.
Man, so awesome. That trailer had a "Fairly Oddparents" vibe to it in the best ways possible.
Between their hearthstone and overwatch animated shorts, they really should get into the animated tv show business. Both wow and Overwatch especially have huge potentials.
Dr Boom got the plan right because hes a genius
