The Dalaran Heist - Adventure Launches May 16
Blizzard has announced new details on the upcoming Great Dalaran Heist adventure.
- Launches May 16!
- Wings cost 700 gold each, first is free. Whole adventure should be $20 USD.
- Like Dungeon Run and Monster Hunt in format but loads of more content / features.
- Challenge defenders of Dalaran that sit between you and your job.
- The second chapter can be purchased right away after completing the free first chapter.
- The chapters after 1 & 2 will be unlocked on a weekly basis.
- Hero Powers get unlocked through mini-quests such as Freeze 30 minions or Draw 100 cards.
- You can remove cards from your deck at a Dalaran Tavern during your run as well as modify your deck with special gold coins.
- Each wing has a special passive effect active. Anomaly mode makes these randomized.
Next week, on May 14 & 15, there will be a special event where some pros get to play the adventure early.

- The Violet Hold - Imprisoned Minions, join the fight later

And then again a bunch of people would complain about the fact, that Blizzard is hiding cards exclusively behind a paywall. The way they are doing it now i think it`s much more fair, since you won`t really lose anything by not buying it expect for the experience itself.
.....god.... why?, i hate this part.
Because artificialy inflating the interest value of the adventure via hype and waiting

Wait ... it's paid content? lol
you must be new here
So there won't be any rewards aside from maybe card backs, right?
Nah, nevermind. It will reward you with 15 Rise packs, 1 golden classic card pack and a golden Zayle which is useless legendary. Nice.
Why is it useless? We dont even know the decklists yet. And im sure it`s at the very least pretty valuable for players with a limited collection who aren`t tryharding to climb to Legend every season.
Time to not watching it.
So what’s the deal with the friendly encounter? It looks like a really cool interface but it’s also super confusing.
As far as i understood it, it gives you the opportunity to refine your deck a little more by recruiting new minions/cards and kicking other ones out if you`d like to.
Everything great but really dont understand why they got someone playing the upcoming contents lately before official release just ruins the flavour and makes people angry
They need to sell this - thats why.
AND you have a choice to skip watching this stuff if you want.
and they make you watch it how? you know you can just ignore this?
no need to get angry :)
Releases more than a month after the set release and its not even the full release of the whole adventure. Besides cashing checks, what do the employees of this small indie gaming company do with their time?
It's tough (impossible) to please everyone. On one hand, I see people who pour countless hours (and likely dollars) into the game, diving into competitive play, working on the meta, collecting every card, who see this as a waste of their time and resources, and hey, that's how they view their Hearthstone experience, and I respect that. I see others who thrive on solo content, who love Dungeon Run, and other modes that offer challenges that you can't find on ladder or in Arena. This is for the latter, highlighting an aspect of the game that is often forgotten, fun for the sake of fun.
I remember countless hours playing Goldeneye 64 with my friends, and you didn't earn anything, it was for fun. Exploring the worlds of the Witcher, Final Fantasy, the early Halo's gave no tangible rewards, they were just fun for the sake of fun. Some players aren't content with that, which is fine, but there are countless others who are, and this mode is exciting in that aspect. Plus, you get 15 packs in the process, which might not please the guy who battles his way to the top of legend each season, but to my wife, who doesn't care about competitive play and just enjoys the Hearthstone world and gameplay, diving time and time again into Dungeons, its a nice bonus. Asking for compensation to include this mode, either through money or in game currency is understandable and expected. I'm excited for the mode, these modes are fun to me. No cards are locked away behind this content, compared to previous adventures, so it really is optional, and I'm excited for it.
