The Dalaran Heist - Adventure Launches May 16
Blizzard has announced new details on the upcoming Great Dalaran Heist adventure.
- Launches May 16!
- Wings cost 700 gold each, first is free. Whole adventure should be $20 USD.
- Like Dungeon Run and Monster Hunt in format but loads of more content / features.
- Challenge defenders of Dalaran that sit between you and your job.
- The second chapter can be purchased right away after completing the free first chapter.
- The chapters after 1 & 2 will be unlocked on a weekly basis.
- Hero Powers get unlocked through mini-quests such as Freeze 30 minions or Draw 100 cards.
- You can remove cards from your deck at a Dalaran Tavern during your run as well as modify your deck with special gold coins.
- Each wing has a special passive effect active. Anomaly mode makes these randomized.
Next week, on May 14 & 15, there will be a special event where some pros get to play the adventure early.
Chapters
- Dalaran Bank
- The Violet Hold - Imprisoned Minions, join the fight later
- Streets of Dalaran
- The Underbelly - Swaps Attack and Health of all minions
- ???
That`s a fantastic point of view!

The Blizzard Press Center released all the artwork for The Dalaran Heist, including Zayle, Shadow Cloak, which reads: You start the game with one of Zayle's EVIL Decks!
So, you will have decks for Rogue, Shaman, Warrior and Warlock.
From what I understand, Zayle, Shadow Cloak will be a reward from completing all the wings of the adventure. The EVIL decks will be similar to the decks from Whizbang the Wonderful... playable but maybe not optimized.
2 mana 3/2 not bad in an aggro deck
Balancing team should ask solo team for a guide "how to do your job well"
If people don't remember the rewards, you get 15 Rise of Shadows packs (3 per wing completion) and then a cardback and a golden classic pack for clearing the whole thing.
Don't think anything was ever said about heroic rewards during the year of the dragon article. Guess we'll see.
There probably won’t be ‘heroic versions’ of the wings anymore.
It literally says in the video that there will be a Heroic mode that opens once you clear the whole adventure @ 04:45 mark.
I haven't watched the video, now I see there will be Heroic mode, my bad. What's with all the downvotes? So much toxicity in this forum.
Looks like fun. Sort of a drag with the wait. I'm waiting to see what I open with my 15 packs before I try to spend up to the next legendary. It means I'm sitting on all my gold for 4 more weeks.
Oh well, it's my choice isn't it. Spend dust at the beginning of cycle, spend gold at the end.
I see a lot of people complaining about the streamer event, and I just want to remind everyone that you aren't forced to watch it. It's like spoilers for a movie, some people want them to be as far away as possible, others don't really care if things get spoiled. Consume the content or don't, it isn't for everyone.
Or they could just release it, and then have streamers do their content. Isn't that strictly better? Why gate the release simply to host a spoiler stream? Makes no sense to me and many others.
There were a few bugs in the last streamer build which got fixed by release, so don't tell me it's just "gating."
So you're saying that if streamer's don't stream it, bugs won't be revealed and it'll be released unfinished? That's clearly gating, your argument makes no sense.
Creating hype is always good PR. Not a small amount of streamers already played some of it time ago in Blizzard HQ but can't talk about it because NDAs were signed.
Releasing (some small part of) it privately on the HS twitch channel before practically every HS streamer has a video about it is worth it if it makes a few dozen more players buy it, or even as little as play it. They did the same with rumble run that is free, and they had a lot of people watching Allie misplay live.
If something has an audience of several thousand people - I see no reason to not broadcast it.
So you're going to misstate my pretty obvious position in order to push your incorrect interpretation of the term "gating"? Bugs being revealed is irrelevant. Blizzard calls this a preview and that's exactly what it is. Even if the final build was ready, it's not "gating" to let some people use it first, and even if we pretend that that is gating, they often (if not always) do not play with the final build in the preview. (It's mostly finished but clearly it's not completely finished and historically we've had significant fixes between the preview and the actual release.) You don't get to redefine "gating" just so you can attempt to justify your hate of preview streams.
I don’t mean to be that guy, but why the f*ck would I want to watch a pro play the entire adventure a week early while im still waiting to play it myself. Sorry I’d much rather experience it myself first hand and then watch streamers or atleast play it at the same time as them.
But not sit an watch them have fun while I’m waiting another week before I can even finish it. Lol
I agree with you about the idea - so I'm not gonna watch the event myself, spoiling all the scenes and effects. But said that, you are really wrong about "week early". Event is happening on 14th and 15th and the Heist gets released to everyone on 16th - only 2 days later.
