The Dalaran Heist - Adventure Launches May 16
Blizzard has announced new details on the upcoming Great Dalaran Heist adventure.
- Launches May 16!
- Wings cost 700 gold each, first is free. Whole adventure should be $20 USD.
- Like Dungeon Run and Monster Hunt in format but loads of more content / features.
- Challenge defenders of Dalaran that sit between you and your job.
- The second chapter can be purchased right away after completing the free first chapter.
- The chapters after 1 & 2 will be unlocked on a weekly basis.
- Hero Powers get unlocked through mini-quests such as Freeze 30 minions or Draw 100 cards.
- You can remove cards from your deck at a Dalaran Tavern during your run as well as modify your deck with special gold coins.
- Each wing has a special passive effect active. Anomaly mode makes these randomized.
Next week, on May 14 & 15, there will be a special event where some pros get to play the adventure early.
Chapters
- Dalaran Bank
- The Violet Hold - Imprisoned Minions, join the fight later
- Streets of Dalaran

15 RoS packs is terrible value because for 2800 gold I could buy 28. The adventure should reward more than 28 packs, otherwise it's not worth buying, period, and so I'm never getting to experience this content. Very bad planning!
Reward? If I'm literally paying 2800 gold just to play through some lame single player mode I'd rather spend those on packs and never play this. Great planning Blizz.
I hope heroic would actually be challenging and not as high RNG as some of the most infamous fights in past heroics (that took a while to finish just because you had to have the boss randomly not get good results out of arcane portal hero power)
🤔
Agreed. All the complaining about gold and packs. I buy this because it's fun to play and I want the collectable card back or hero from it.
I understand fun part of playing adventures, really. But from my point of view, offline content in online multiplayer games is just worse than in typical games made for offline fun. In online games, I want to play with other players but if not, then just make rewards bigger for the price we pay.
I'm not sure how many people playing HS enjoys this game so much that they tend to complete every solo content with a lot of laughs. As for me and 3 of my friends playing HS, none of us gives a shit about solo content. If they want to have fun alone, they always chose other games. HS is for me and for them a time to play few games on ladder or arena, where you actually face other people. Or when we can meet together and play against each other.
Prizes should be more rewarding in my opinion. I rather save gold for next expansion really. That being said I think this might be the most entertaining solo content ever released. So I guess one can say, it's fair.
I don't know, the fun factor from the adventure on it's own seems pretty enough to use gold / money to buy this adventure. I mean, It's fun, interesting, people worked on it. At least it is not less worth for me then buying packs to play competitive. So getting some packs for it seems really good, too. And I also like that there are no specific cards (other than Zayle) that can be unlocked only with the adventure, since this really would kinda force you to buy the adventure even if you don't want any single player content.
There is nothing specific about Zayle, Shadow Cloak? It is realy just a Whizbang the Wonderful reprint?
This is just bullshit why would anyone buy those wings for 3 packs and some "content" with no REAL rewards inside? Why not just buy 7 packs right away or play like 4-5 arenas? What is on Blizzard's mind in 2019, first announcement on Twitch then this
That's horrible!
So, 1300 gold for new whizzbang and golden pack? Sounds pretty lame, i'll better buy 28 packs.
Entertainment factor from solo adventures doesn't really matter, we all know that most of us payed for card unlocks, not for fun.
Also 15 RoS packs. And I think that most people liked solo adventures mostly BECAUSE of the fun. It didn't have any replayability potential (not like this one) but the first time someone played them I'm sure they had at least a little fun.
Yeah, I know, all people are different, but for me solo content is much more fun and satisfying than competetive.
I'd really like to see the number of your true research that revealed "most of us" paid for card unlocks.
Your;e quite entitled to your own opinion, stating wrong facts, though, is sort of a problem.
And the rewards would be fine if we would get them when RoS packs are relevant. I assume you get the last packs or even all of them after you finish the whole thing, wich will be 2 months after the expansion release. At that point its 15 packs of dust + some card so bad you didn't want to craft them.
I personally buy this adventure for the solo content and not for packs. If I wanted more packs, I would seek them in the store. They don't have anything else of value to give you at the moment, so packs are the solution. What do you suggest they should give you, so that you get maximum value of you money or gold?
Not to mention this is coming out way to late. Solo content a few weeks after the expansion is was fine when it gave you no packs. The time gap is bigger than ever before when it should be the smallest. And we ain't even getting all of it. People want to try out the new stuff, experiment with weird/meme decks before the meta is set when they still have a chance to beat something. Right now most people dont want more RoS packs because they got all the relevant meta cards. I wanted to get this with gold but at this point I would be paying 2800g for unplayable legendaries and some dust + the solo content that used to be free, and i don't like that.
I think it's actually great for everybody including the F2P gamers. Zayle, Shadow Cloak (the legendary card) provides you with multiple, viable deck recipes at random, that can help you climb the ladder even if you have an incomplete card collection. I only say that, because even in rank 15+ you find meta decks that "home-brewed" decks won't stand a chance against. So, Zayle is like Whizbang the Wonderful, which I would find far more interesting, than playing a deck or two over and over again.
The rewards for paying 2800 gold (can be gathered in a month) are 15 Shadow packs, a golden Classic pack, the legendary card and of course all of the 5 wings with great repeatability. It's not that hard to keep track of them.
3 packs Rise of Shadow are for free, so it's 700 gold for 3 packs...
That's how the cost of 4 wings of 700 gold each is calculated: 4*700=2800 gold. You are paying for the wings and not for the packs. If packs are what you're after, then buy packs from the store.
