5 More Rise of Shadows Budget Decks That Won't Break The Bank!
We've teamed up again with RegisKillbin to bring you five more budget decks for Rise of Shadows! Regis is a regular Legend level player and prolific deck creator here on HearthPwn, and he has put together these lists to give you some good options on the ladder without burning through a ton of arcane dust. These decks were built and played at Rank 5 and higher, and although they can win games at any rank, are typically best used by people on the Rank 20 to Rank 5 climb.
You can check out Regis' first five budget decks that we covered last week, or find all the new lists below, including some words from Regis himself. If you want to learn more about any given deck, clicking them will bring you to their dedicated guide page which will include additional details.

These decks are going to be piloted LIVE! Tune in below.
Budget Tempo Rogue
Tempo Rogue is a popular and dominant deck in the meta today, but there are a handful of legendary cards that make it hard to play on a budget. This list is far more affordable, while still doing a lot of the crazy things Tempo Rogue loves to do with Lackey shenanigans. It's definitely weaker than the full version at pushing out damage, but it can still make big swings and win early boards with consistency. It won't take you to Legend without the addition of the Waggle Pick+Raiding Party package, but it can certainly win you games in style at lower ranks.

Budget Secret Mech Paladin
Secret Mech Paladin is a solid Tier 2 deck right now in the Rise of Shadows meta, but it is flying under the radar a little. Much like the full-cost version , this list takes the powerful new early tempo secret-synergy cards Sunreaver Spy and Mysterious Blade and supports that early tempo with a strong midrange mech package. Although it's missing a few big legendaries, it can still dominate early boards and leverage that for tons of mid-game pressure that overwhelms your opponent. This isn't a Legend deck, but it can deliver some decisive wins in lower ranks.

Budget Silence Priest
Silence Priest is a fringe meta deck at the moment, landing in the Tier 3 range, but the good news is that it's a super cheap deck to build by default. This list is only a few cards different from the standard list, substituting Injured Blademasters for Hench-clan Shadequills because I like their earlier pressure and synergy with Northshire Clerics, and changing a few other cards to make it a tad more cost efficient. This list is capable of big things and quick wins with Divine Spirit + Inner Fire, making it a great option for climbing affordably at all ranks.

Budget Resurrection Priest
Resurrect Priest is a Tier 3 deck right now, succeeding because of its ability to summon tons of huge taunts and leverage their high health totals for Divine Spirit + Inner Fire kill potential. This budget list comes in at under 1500 dust by sacrificing a few legendary cards, but is otherwise very similar to the default list and retains the same functional win condition. And don't freak out, Northshire Cleric is standard despite the resurrect pool implications, card draw is still important! This deck will be quite competitive up until at least Rank 5, then may struggle depending on the meta you're seeing.

Budget Tempo Mage
This budget Tempo Mage list, coming in at under 1500 dust, borrows heavily from the highest win-rate version of Tempo Mage on ladder currently. It's not the strongest archetype at the moment, but you can still create absurd amount of early tempo with the cheap spells and spell synergies in this deck, overwhelming your opponents with early minion pressure then finishing them off with lots of damage from hand. This deck is capable of winning games, finishing quests, and being fun, but it's not going to be a deck you can use to rank up a ton.

I'm gonna give that mech paladin a shot, looks good.
I created the resurrect priest version and I'm having good results in the ranked, thanks...
Ok quick question : How sure are u that he tested all these deks on ladder ? You cant just post as a single player a shit ton of decks and claim they are all the best budget version that there is. So unless u can tell me he tested every single deck like 20 games with each then im sorry i will not risk going into rankeds with them.
Risking going ranked? Sounds awkward to me.. cuz it’s still a game. It’s not like you lose money.
Also these are budget decks. Did you even read the deck descriptions? You comment makes no sense at all in my opinion because he never claimed those are the “best lists”
for example read the last sentence in the Tempo mage deck description. I don’t get how people can comment on something without reading it.
Regis played on live on his stream (at very high ranks). You can check the VoDs for them.
These are simply too weak by going all in on the budget-side. Some total beginners might like them for a bit.
I think the overall community wants lists that are in between the two plans; on the one side super-budget and on the other side full-on expensive meta decks.
Yep, and for the most part people only focus on full-on expensive meta decks at the start of an expansion which is unfortunate. The first few weeks is not the time to be crafting cards for players on a budget. Finding them lists they can enjoy and be competitive with at some levels of the ladder without breaking the bank is quite important!
I agree though, more mid-cost decks would be a nice addition. Usually they come in the form of taking a current meta deck and finding suitable replacements for legendary or epic cards while retaining the same core game concepts. You lose some power but if people like the deck they can go all in and craft the fully upgraded version which is pretty cool. Sadly with the way many decks are built now though and how unique legendaries are to them, there's not as many friendly-cost versions of meta decks.
you could take these decks as a jumping off point though, and make some replacements. I'm sure Regis probably does this himself, and if not if you asked him for replacements of a higher cost he will reply to you.
been talking to the guy on and off for years, he's sound.
I once sent him a song called "Regis chillbin" back in the old gods meta and we've been friends since.
What you describe is quite nice and most welcome, but I'm actually talking about more mid-cost decks that stand on their own instead of watered-down meta decks.
Like you said, they usually rely on the synergy of legendaries and epics. The watered-down version is usually just a way worse version and also, the updated deck auto-completion does a decent job on this: just take the 25-ish cards you already own and auto-complete the deck in-game to test the archetype.
Unique decks that aren't meant as memes that are reasonably affordable and somewhat competitive would be great is my point.
And where are your decks now, Stancifka ??
HS is only braindead in the mismatch. If you get a tier 1 mirror you'll see it's less auto-play.
How much brain involvement for a pro boxer vs a squirrel?
Your butt even more
That is if you pretend to be a Legend level player investing little to no money. But if you are a true F2P player who's seeking to get to rank 10 trying to invest as little as possible, these worth trying.
And obviously the decks that require you to spend money will be the ones that dominate the meta, happens in Hearthstone, happens in Magic, Yugi and in every other card game because this is business, not a charity.
It's great you respond without even watching, as Regis showed how to win at rank ~3 with these decks. So you statement is false, but that's fine, because you got to curse on forums, so your life just got better.
This guy made his account yesterday and every post since has been harassment or toxic.
I disagree with you particularly at ranks 10+.
Though you do have the right to hold whatever opinion you choose, I have the right to consider you to be a person I will give little credence to in any future posts.
Whew, your negative energy is far more telling of your comment than any state the game could be in. If you hate it, why do you play it? If you play it, why are you playing something you hate? If you don't actually hate it, why are you THIS negative? I'm being serious, there's too much great content in video-games out there and never enough time, you should be spending your time pursuing something you enjoy, and if you don't, there's nothing wrong with letting it go. Festering in negative energy isn't healthy, regardless of how it makes you feel to share that negative energy with others.
