This expansion brings way too much taunt. Maybe it's because a lot of viable, low cost ones are rotating out. Wild might become a taunt fiesta with decks like Even, Reno and maybe cube warlock getting a lot of love.
No more voidlord
Non battlecry effect. Perfect for getting cheated on the board. TAUNT DEMON. And warlock healing.
This card has such a sick combination of traits that have been traditionally VERY desired in warlock and very succesful in the class. I think it will absolutely find its way into the control archetype, in a future expansion if not right away.
I'm pretty sure this is worse than Rotten Applebaum. A lot of healing is rotating out, but I still think you'd play Rotten Applebaum over this card. The redraw synergy needs to be supported by something other than Plot Twist.
I would actually say that this is much better than Rotten Applebaum. For one thing, its free healing, whereas you have to play 5 five for Applebaum and wait on healing. Against burn decks, which are warlock's worst enemy, that waiting can be deadly, while this card could come in clutch. Plot Twist is a two-of card, so you're much more likely to draw it, and using augmented Elekk you can shuffle this card into your deck to get the effect multiple times. Furthermore, Plot twist will almost always be draw 6-8 cards, so its SUPER likely that you'll get this effect. On top of all that, its a demon, so the body doesn't matter much because it will likely get cheated out (in wild) by Skull of the Mana'ri, Voidcaller, or Possessed Lackey.
Also Sense Demons
New "Drawlock" archetype incoming?
So you'd play sub-statted minions and a 2 mana, do-nothing-to-the-board card just so you have the chance to heal yourself 4 or 8? With that much tempo loss you'd need a lot more than 8 extra health to survive.
Why the downvotes on my post? So funny that if you say a card is cool but won't see play, people get offended.
It has value without even having to be played and the "chance" of drawing this becomes pretty high in control decks when you're cycling through 8 or 9 cards at a time with plot twist and having 2 copies in your deck. Or you could even guarantee it with Sense Demons. And if you have Rafaam in your deck you're going to have to sacrifice some cards to turn into legendaries, why not cards you get use out of while being able to hold on to them?
Because you're highlighting 2 cards, but in this case Blizzard is going to push a new archetype. I am not offended, your prediction is wrong that's all.
This is actually pretty sweet with plot twist being able to shuffle and redraw this multiple times without actually having to play it getting free healing. Playing the card is a bit weak but still not terrible.
Just hope you don't have this card in your starting hand and you should be good.
Better than Rotten Apple just for the Demon tag.
Actually very good in Wild when you want to play it for 'free' with Skull /Voidcaller and bring it back with Guldan.
all hail 6 drops
“I like that they try to do something different with the mechanics.. but just a 6 mana 4/6 taunt with a battle cry heal.. that might be worth something.. this is just too conditional.. if you get it at the wrong time it’s just shitty”
Unless you have 27 or more health this card is better than a battlecry minion with the same effect
Nice in genn warlock in wild
Wow this is just a worse Rotten Applebaum - For 1 more mana you get 1 more health and the demon tag (often not relevant). The only upside is that it can be instant needed healing to get out of spell burst range - the downside is, when it is drawn and the heal is not needed.
This is a class card and Rotten Applebaum is a neutral minion - This card is just not good enough for the mana cost and is out valued by Rotten Applebaum.
If you think at this way... you don't need to play this card in order to defend yourself. you could just play something better at mean time for better survival rate.
Rotten Applebaum Needs to be played for 5 mana in order to get that heal but you really want to play something else for the potential comeback but you lack health for it. and also would suck to be forced to use up 5 mana for just 4 health. There is also a risk that Rottem Applebaum gets silenced and you die because of that
Mean while drawing this card and be able use your mana and health more efficient could mean a major comeback.
you probably could play these two cards in same deck too but If I had to pick between them I would choose this one into the deck.
But if there is "discover" card you pick the Rotten Applebaum cause it is discover and not draw from deck.
I can see your point - Safe from Silence and Mana efficient in the way that you don't need to play it for the effect.
"forced to use up 5 mana for just 4 health" - I would Argue that 4/5 taunt also comes with the 5 mana cost ;)
I also saw another comment that argues that it has synergy with Plot twist - can only agree with that aswell.
6 health is significantly better than 5 simply because comparable minions on curve have 5 attack. This minion will often soak two hits instead of just an easy trade with a 5-attack minion.
