As I mentioned previously in a highly downvoted post (mostly to the tone of don't nerf me bro). Instead of reducing the cost of dust for old cards, simply increase the dust for new ones, along with increasing the dust gains from arena and disenchanting the new cards.

I feel sorry for everyone that got grouped with Kolento.

@thesolis, I agree with you. Having to stockpile gold and dust to craft different cards would put F2P players at a bigger disadvantage than they already are compared to P2P players.

It would be easier to simply squish dust in the next expansion: dust get reduced by 50%, old crafted cards get reduced by 50% and gold/money cost of old cards get reduced by 50% too to let new players easier to keep up.

This would make a new currency unnecessary while making it easier to get older cards.

Two downsides of adding a new type of dust:

1. More complicated (it is supposed to be a casual game)
2. What do you do with arena rewards? Would it put some people off playing if there was a chance they'd get 'useless' dust and card packs from arena? (I suppose you could have an option to choose which type of reward you're looking for - but see point 1!)

Main upside of multiple dust types is that Blizzard make more money (if I had to buy packs to make cards I'd probably drop another £35 straight away TBH). And I suppose less importantly people with stockpiles don't get to 'cheat' and make x% of the cards on day 1.

I wonder which is more important to Blizzard. Remember that WoW has multiple types of dust (AFAIK)...

I'm still pretty sure that they will add new type of dust for expansion cards. I hope they won't though.

A new currency would be bad. Would really make things complicated. To create a card you need first to find out which dust it has and then where or how to obtain this dust and so on. I prefer that the current currencies remain.

Some people might use the argument, that many players have stored already a lot dust. It is true that some did, but the majority of players neither stored big amounts of gold nor big amounts of dust. Them open up packs and create missing cards. It is really a miniority of people who really advanced that far with their collection that storing the dust makes sense for them.

A new currency would kind off make it more fair for people who have not yet grinded thousands of dust from Arena. Then again, it wouldn't be fair for the people who grinded specifically for the next expansion. We'll see how it is handled.

I'll be so relieved if there's no new currency for the expansion.
