I guess there's 4(=2x2) pirates that would satisfy the condition so maybe. People run Keleseth enough for me not to dismiss the average power of that sort of high-roll strategy, so I expect if it ever does get OP it will be in that sort of deck. How 'OP' that would be in the context of wild though I'm not sure.
yeah but how do you get that? there is no 1 mana steal from random class. Now that i look at it, there is NO 1 mana steal card for rogue. So most of the time it is a river croc and sometimes later its a 2 mana 3 4 rush, which is still pretty good but not broken anymore at that stage.
This card is insane. Even without the battlecry it's a 2 mana 2/3, but with how easy they're making it so rogues can get cards from another class most likely you'll be able to get the battlecry off.
Turn 1 Pilfer, turn 2 Underbelly Fence. If the archetype becomes playable that will be an amazing start.
This card is just the right power level to *maybe* make the archtype playable.
Probably still needs a bit more support.
Y'all remember Alextrasa's Champion? 3/3 charge for 2, and a much easier activator? It wasn't run that much. I think this is gonna be a lot harder to pull off than people think
It was definitely played in every dragon warrior deck. The thing is, there were just stronger decks to compete at that time. I believe tempo dragon warrior was low tier 1 / high tier 2 at some point and this card was definitely one of the reasons for the success.
It's not about how often you run this card. You run this card 2x 100% of the time in an archtype that fits. The question is how viable will the archtype be.
That's exactly the point. This card is a good tempo play for an archetype who was never viable precisely because it's core mechanics require very low tempo plays (Academic Espionage would be a good example of that), so a card like this should really help, but shouldn't be enough to make the archetype broken by itself.
We have seen this time and time again. When memes are given too much power, are turned into nightmares.
Powercreep corrupts, and Blizzard's powercreep corrupts absolutely.
True. Mecha'thun at first looked like a meme and fun card. And turned out to be one of the most popular combo in meta
Not as OP as people might think but a welcome edition to thief rogue. Pilfer into this is no Tunnel Trogg into Totem Golem, and we will likely see tokens this expansion so it won't be getting as many good trades, in the late game this is a situational 2 mana deal 3 damage which is just meh.
Not saying this wont see play and of course Thief Rogue will be a strong deck but from my point of view this card won't be a candidate for a nerf.
not having a sold 1 drop for this type of deck is the only problem most likely never see play on turn 2. maybe some shark action later on in the game
Why would this deck rely more on RNG than any other deck? And what hearthstone deck doesn't rely on RNG?
Obviously it's the case, because the outcome of the game will often depend on what spells you get from opponent's class.
If this rogue gets enough early game cards, it can be pretty cancer. Especially considering that it relies on rng.
Even with this card alone good luck getting back on board after turn 1 Pilfer, turn 2 Underbelly Fence highroll
I dunno, editing a middle finger on this one might be harder than when I did it with Time Out!.
I love Tess Rogue, but this card is just too much. It's an incredible tempo swing, should have been 1 mana more. This card alone could transform the archetype from one with a controllish style into a tempo / aggro deck (specially in wild with swashburglar, and considering the new 4 mana 4/3 is also a pirate, the 3 mana spell in RR will also be mandatory... Sorry, I'm terrible remembering names)
Damn why do the tempt me so much to run Stolen Steel just to make sure I'm not screwed in Rogue mirror
and then you get a rogue weapon from stolen steel anyway T_T
You can't... Stolen Steel is like that 4/3 pirate it gives weapons only from 8 other classes
