Witchwood Piper comes out a turn later, and basically gives 3/3 (in that it provides a 3/3 body while also getting your lowest cost minion).
There are key differences, of course, such as Witchwood Piper being vanilla after battlecry, whereas the +2/+2 could go on something more useful (such as an Argent Squire), and the fact that its a spell could also mean something, perhaps with Shirvallah shenanigans - but ultimately, you can assess both fairly similarly.
Ultimately though, while Piper sees the occasional play - usually in decks that really want to draw specific cards (for example, I run it in Dead Man's Hand warrior to get Town Crier, so for 5 mana I get to thin the deck by 2 and get closer to the premium DMH cycles), it's not so powerful that it's run often, and that's across all classes.
This has some potential, but I'd be surprised if it does see competitive play.
another big difference to piper is that this is a spell, while piper is a minion. you might not want to have a bad statted minion in your deck (for duel, for this card, for whatever reason).
Otherwise I concur with your analysis in most parts ;)
2 mana draw a card=fair
1 mana give a minion in hand +2/+2 buff=fair
It’s a fair card in Standard, but not a strong card, so unless Pally gets a busted low cost minion that it needs to tutor out early, I don’t see why you would play this when Pally already has butt loads of draw.
In Wild, this combos great with a Barnes+Y’shaarj cheat deck, which is cool, but still fair since that has been happening for about 2 years now in other classes pretty consistently.
Good with Immortal Prelate, but medicore with Wild Pyromancer, because the buff becomes useless with Equality or Shrink Ray.... (Witchwood Piper would be better in that case.) Could also work somehow in Wild with High Priest Thekal + Molten Giants, if you run no 1/2 drops....
btw: This card should have been a WL card for Wild Renounce Darkness to tutor Barnes....

Supports Shivarla OTK Pally pretty well (or is that now cycled out of Standard?)
Shivarla will cost 25 until you draw it. How do you think the OTK works?
It pulls other cards from your deck that aren’t Shivarla...

Immortal prelate? 1/2 Epic which keeps buffs costs 2 and Goes back to Deck each Time it dies. Go defender of argus later and you have infinit taunt while steeds is out.
All in all search cards give consistency
yeah Immortal Prelate is the best combo i think you can use this for ,but the question is ,how consistant will it be in actually getting of value of Immortal Prelate before opponent finds a sillence
acolyte of pain is also great for this.
Doomsayer
It's not funny because he's 2 mana.
Solid card in both midrange and combo decks.
Core cards of holy wrath pala will not rotate so this could be useful as cycle card
Also it's spell and helps shirvallah mana reduction.
I think everyone is wondering how to exploit this card...
It might be slow but it certainly has a lot of potential, the fact that you can manipulate it to draw a specific card is quite useful. Looking forward to this one for Pally and maybe some bonkers 1-drops.
