Between Fandral, Ixlid and now this does druid SERIOUSLY not have enough "remove immediately and at any cost or lose the game" cards? No one likes these, this card would be good enough as a battlecry.
I couldn't agree more. This is a great solid card, but it's also a card that seems like it will be devastating if not removed right away. IMO those kinds of "must remove" cards should be reserved for higher mana slots, because being faced with that situation on turn 2 and having no answer feels gutwrentching.
It only has 3 health.
Those cards almost never played on turn 2. They usually played on the same turn with other synergetic cards. It's a mid/late game card, most of the time.
You think so? I would play this card on curve unless I knew I was against a greedy ctrl deck. I can see saving it for a combo, but I could also see playing it on turn 2, why not when you have everything to gain and nothing to lose.
You have a point.
I see some applications in Hand Druid (not that I think that Archetype is good by itself, but we should never discount the power of Mountain Giant).
Other than that, Druid has never really had a solid turn 2 play, and this might just do the trick. If it dies it has traded into something, if it lives it might generate some value down the line.
It's not fantastic, but it's not bad either and will only get better down the line. As it stands wwe don't reallly have that many Choose one spells that are good enough to see play. I'd definitely put it in any deck that runs both Wrath and Power of the Wild.
Hand Druid can also be Token Druid with Wispering Woods and this works great with an early Power of the Wild on turn 4. Summon the 3/2 and get the board buff (and minion) for later.
So that's why they changed the art for the choices on power of the wild.
This is a more flexible Fandral.
Fandral Staghelm
My wild Genn aggro druid approves!
In standard format this will work with Power of the Wild, Wrath, Mark of Nature, Mark of the Loa, Starfall, and Nourish. In wild format you can also use this with Jade Idol, Living Roots, Raven Idol, Feral Rage, Dark Wispers, and Wisps of the Old Gods.
I think that treant druid might be good and I really like it with power of the wild as most of my losses were related to empty hand or not enough buffs. Seems like wrath will be powerful with that too and I am pretty sure they will print some more choose one cards that will work with it. 7/10 for me :)
When do we get "your choose one minions have both powers combined"?
This is going in almost any druid deck for sure.
ME LIKE IT
ME DON'T LIKE
This is absolutely insane with Jade Idol in wild. Get your Skulking Geists ready.
Definitely not Fandral Staghelm level, if Fandral Staghelm is about tempo + value, this is about double value. And imho non of druid choose one spells right now worth it. Dont get me wrong, I like this card a lot just like Fandral Staghelm, but it not that elegant and honestly not that valuable. If they wont print some really good choose one spell, I doubt it see much play after few weeks.
But of course I might be wrong, we dont know which archetype will have druid in new expansion
