I also really see this as just something for control. The stats are underwhelming, so nothing to be gained from those, and the intel hardly helps since you either don't care for it, play around whatever AOE they have or still play around the potential of an AOE because not doing so is usually too risky for Priest.
Where I do see this is definitely in Control decks that just want it for the extra card or for Combo decks that might be on the lookout for potential combobreakers before trying to go off, if any of relevance are printed. The extra card being potentially from the opponent's class could often also very much be a big deal, as interactions between classes are usually very unexpected and hard to prepare for, giving you a decently strong element of surprise.
true. But if I think more about it, I feel like this card is slightly better than I thought but not because it shows me what my opponent hand is. If this meta is somehow super control oriented and they print something busted like frost linch jaina or any other greedy card that wins games on its own, then maybe I would play this card just to get an extra card. Guess we will have to see but I am 99% confident that seeing three cards in my opponents hand is barely relevant to how good this card is.
Edit: also for the case of dirty rat. Lets say im laying against hadranox druid. This druid usually has a bunch of cards in his hands so the chances of my seeing exactly hadronax is probably not too high. Beside this situation, there is a lot of situations you won't see what you want to see
akitoEX. nah your 1st impressions were right. Even in the case of Frost Lich Jaina or Boom or any other DK, the deck you're stealing the card from will have WAY better synergy with that card. So even if you stole Dr. Boom, what mechs do you have in your Priest deck? If you steal Jaina, the Mage will have spells and minions to abuse the Hero power to either get minions to 1 health and ping or just buff the Hero Power to kill a minion. Also, the chances that you steal a non-value card from a control deck is pretty high. You can easily (and most likely) get a Shield Slam or Brawl or something from a Warrior rather than Dr. Boom. The opponent is going to PLAY Dr. Boom as soon as they draw it usually. This is all just my opinion of course, but it seems to make more sense than this card being OP haha!
True. Maybe we will see. Depends on the card they print like if you are playing against odd warrior you might want their direhown hatchcling
i mean, you can see 3 cards from you opponents hand and pick one, how could anyone say this isn't a good card.
i think this is the most viable legendary since lyra / sr.anduin
3 mana 3/2 Look at 3 cards in your opponent's hand and pick one?? Pair this with Chameleos and Benedictus and just play your opponent's deck!!
Meanwhile Azalina cries in a corner
How exactly is this powerful? It would be powerful in well balanced well designed game. But in the game where you are facing 3 to 5 top tier decks it has no point because you usually know opponents hand anyway and in 80 percent games in last 5 years you are facing aggro kid who usually has no value for your control deck with this "legendary" card included. Another Chameleos for priest. Worthless.
the thing is almost every broken card is rotating out so the power level is going to be decreased. Plus aggro has not been seen in some metas and aggro decks were never 80 percent of the meta this year. But yes even with the power level decreased I doubt this would see play. However, its not bad, a worse Glimmerroot imo
What will happen if there's only one card in their hand?
You'll win the game and get 100 free gold.
This card reminds me of electra and loti
Good standalone cards
It's super great to see their hand, to either know you have no chance of countering or sweating out the next 4 draws to get something to counter what you see. My odds will always reveal The Coin as a card.
People don't seem to understand how strong it is to know exactly what's in your opponents hand, which this does. Now Roger won't have to stream snipe anymore, he can just play this card.
Honestly i think it's a very powerful card, knowing 3 cards in your opponents hand can change totally your game style.
Ok so I am seeing constantly people complaining this is not worth for a legendary because is low stated low mana card with a simple effect, its not flashy. So let me remind you of a certain legendary that is played very much in every meta Bloodmage Thalnos.
Yes I know that it is not a very creative effect it was seen before but this is a very strong card. This is telling you how OP Drakonid Operative was in the past.
drakonoid operative had good stats for it's cost and was unaffected by the upcoming dragonfire potion (?). not saying this is a bad card, but it's not on that power level
This card is nothing close to Bloodmage Thalnos
y i agree! There is a lot of room for a card to be worse than Dragonid operative and still be a strong card ^^. 3 mana 3/2 that dicovers a card will 100% see play in my opinion. Especially since the powerlevel will nosedive after the rotation.
When timed correctly you can also get things like the new Hagathas 5/5 token, Kazakus potions and stuff like that. Also worth mentioning: The spying aspect becomes a lot more relevant when random effects are involved like getting the information which Ysera card your opponent got etc.
