I have a way to (sort of) fix Rafaam's scheme...Make it cost 0. Not 1, 2 and definitely not 3. At 0 mana, you can play something along it and it still wouldn't be OP because 1/1 creatures are so easy to handle and to make it actually slightly threatening you have the leave it in hand for multiple turns.
Seems like they're trying to overcompensate for Lost in the Jungle, and overcompensating is a sure-fire way to make a card unplayable.

rafaam's scheme: summon 7 1\1 imps so my Bloodreaver Gul'dan will summon them instead of Voidlord!
there is no card that can kill them all. maybe 1 or 2. let's count the spells that deal 1 damage to all or all enemy minions

Cards are never made to directly support wild format. Wild just takes whatever it can use.
Well, that's not 100% true. Blizzard explicitly said that Cathedral Gargoyle was made to try and push a Wild Dragon Paladin. There might be other such cases.
But you are right in that most new cards are made for Standard play. Eventually Wild will fully stagnate, as the strongest combos possible are created. That's just the nature of the mode.

Well the Scheme is very bad. Can't see much chances for it to be played - even in Arena. On the other hand the Devastator will be an arena star.

So Hex was nerfed from 3 mana to 4 mana in September 2017.
This means they work on expansions at least 18 months in advance!
I remember Been Brode said that they are at least 3 sets ahead. Meaning that the Dragon sets are most likely all done. Now, they are probably finalizing the sets for the year after Dragon. Pretty interesting, actually. 🤔😮
I think it's more likely that they are doing those demonstrations are done in a separate client that didn't get older cards updated. They may have to add each card they want to use individually, which is why we often see basic-only decks with a few selected new cards.

the good: omega devastator, the bad (sorta): improve moral and the ugly: rafaams scheme, I was really hoping all of the schemes in some capacity would be playable, Hagatha's Scheme is a board clear to potentially replace Volcano so it's got a pretty decent chance Togwaggle's Scheme is basically Gang Up but better Lazul's Scheme is a single target Curse of Weakness but arguably better cause it costs 0 and what do warlocks get? what does the arch villain and central mastermind if you will? a worse Fiendish Circle... seriously blizz why? I was really hoping due to how big the imps are compared to rafaam in the art that it would be a high mana cost scheme that summoned 3 ior so mps that got upgraded stats each turn, but instead we get the useless scheme that isn't even rare like the other 3 at least are AND it has a cap unlike the others, and it basically is dooming the warlock cards this set to be almost entirely zoo themed... whereas of course I know people are probably sick of control warlocks due to cubelock leaving a bad taste in peoples mouths but there is no feasible way to have a control warlock in standard currently so this set would need to support it plus it's a set all about evil and darkness, perfect thematic for a warlock so here's to hoping this is just a fluke for what is to come so I swear if this set is the set they push token synergy in warlock...
I wish Rafaam's Scheme was something like "Summon a 1/1 Demon. Upgrades every turn." Where the stats upgrade every turn. Would've been a little more useful.
Rafaam scheme seems like something useful in Zoo deck, but it becomes useful only on turn 5+, but zoo doesn't want it that late... Why is it so bad???
