I don't normally like to say this kind of thing... but this card alongside Coldlight Oracle is going to completely break Mill Rogue to the point where Wild isn't really playable unless you want to go aggro.
People are saying this outclasses Lab Recruiter but I don't see it. Would rather have something that always gives you enough value over something that sometimes gives you less and sometimes way more than you need. It's like if you had a choice between a die with 3 on all sides and a die with 1-6 but you only needed to roll 3 to win most of the time. Not to mention the 3-die comes bundled with a 1 mana 3/2. Unless there's a combo that requires a massive amount of the same minion to be added to your deck, we'll see.
Edit: I guess it also has the flexibility of choosing one of your opponent's minions, though if you're running this in your deck you'd rarely want to do that.
Don't forget it's a 1 mana Spell, being really good with Auctioneer.
It's one mana. And it's a spell. So you can combo it with way more things on the same turn than with Lab Recruiter. Malygos for example. Or any 10 mana card with Preparation.
Or you could use Shadowstep for the same effect plus an additional use of Lab Recruiter if you need to.
Pogo-Hopper comeback? FeelsGoodMan
Just take it with your openning hand and play it with leeroy jenkins on turn 7 or later. OP OP
It's kinda op that you can choose any minion, but I love it.
You know what actually pretty cool about this card? The simple fact that topdecking it doesn't actually feel really bad (compared to hagatha's scheme). This as a cheap one mana spell to activate combo and shuffle 1 good minion from the board is just enough to get your value out of the card. Heck, even if you have to hold on it and wait for a combo card to trigger with it, its gets more valuable. The more i think about it, I like this card a lot. Also, i do feel the main trap people will get with this card is getting to greedy with it and hoping for a high value to shuffle 8 pogos in your deck when just shuffling 1-3 good minions (can be pogo too) while synergizing with a on tempo combo card is perfectly fine. Can't wait to toy with the card.
If all you need is the combo, you have better cards for it. Heck, even all the new minions are better and the single card that gives you those they revealed is a Rogue card that gives you 2 of them.
IF you have to use that card not for its intended purpose, you shouldn't run it in your deck. It remains to be seen if it can be used for its intended purpose.
I will not deny the fact that there about better combo activators in the meta and potential ones with the new lackey mechanic (hoping we get a firefly like card that a one drop that gives your a random lackey in hand) but one thing to keep in mind, functionality of card is not only define but playing it for its "intended" purpose, its by flexibility of a card. I feel this is a functional card by it's flexibility to be used for early game combo activators but, as you mentioned, can be used as a late game strategy to shuffle quite a couple of value based minions in your (which I believe is the "intended" purpose you stating the card has, i think?). It be interesting to see how this card is used in the meta whether its for the purpose that is advertised or just as a early game combo activator. Good rebuttal though.
This card alone is making me reconsider pre ordering. I'm done with the infinite value bullshit.
I never base my pre-order decisions on individual cards anyway. After the first 50 packs (which you can easily get with gold), you mostly get dust anyway, and it really doesn't matter which set your dust comes from.
honestly whole this new mechanic upgrade each turn looks wayy too op
also why is this one mana, not only does it have Combo potential, it's way better than Gang Up on average because you generally had to wait to play that as well, and is also better than Lab Recruiter which didn't have the infinite value. I don't know, but I personally think this should have costed at least 3 or 4 mana :/
Fun fact: The game ends in a draw after T89, which means the maximum growth that scheme cards can reach is 44.
Pogo-Rogue is coming soon...
I hope it does. I've kept 18 copies of Pogo-Hopper, expecting it to get nerfed at some point. XD
nice move
At this point you can call it Pogo-Hope
