Card Review
KiwiiNbacon has reviewed the new cards.
4/12 isn't worth 8.5 Mana lol.
1 Statpoint = 0 Mana
2 Statpoints = 0.5 Mana Wisp
3 Statspoints = 1 Mana Murloc Raider
4 Statpoints = 1.5 Mana Enchanted Raven
5 Statpoints = 2 Mana River Crocolisk
6 statpoints = 2.5 Mana Enhanced Framebot, Magma Rager
7 Statpoints = 3 Mana Spider Tank
8 statpoints = 3.5 Mana
9 statpoints = 4 Mana Chillwind Yeti
10 statpoints = 4.5 Mana
11 statpoints = 5 Mana Card Name
12 statpoints = 5.5 Mana Pit Fighter
13 statpoints = 6 Mana Boulderfist Ogre
14 Statpoints = 6.5 Mana War Golem
15 Statpoints = 7 Mana
16 Statpoints = 7.5 Mana Eldritch Horror, 4/12 would be worth 7.5 Mana
17 Statpoints = 8 Mana
18 Statpoints = 8.5 Mana
19 Statpoints = 9 Mana
20 Statpoints = 9.5 Mana Faceless Behemoth
21 Statpoints = 10 Mana Ultrasaur
22 Statpoints = 10.5 Mana
0.5 can be either rounded up or down (look at 2.5 Mana). Rounded up Vanillas are obviously shit Magma Rager.
Kalecgos is 7.5 Mana for the body, Discover something is 1 Mana, so 1.5 Mana for the permanent ability, which is kinda powerful so the card is strong.
Oh, and a free spell.
People are confusing "printed" vs "played". The question isn't "what mana cost would a 4/12 body be printed at". The question is "what mana cost would a 4/12 by PLAYED at". So we know, for instance, that a 6/7 body would be printed at 6 mana. But the question we care about is what mana cost would 6/7 vanilla body have to be to be added to a competitive deck?
People are downvoting you and me, but totally failing to understand what the argument is. Comparing this card to Eldritch Horror and saying it's 7.5 (or 8.5) mana card without any text is not what you should be considering. Eldritch Horror isn't played; It's not going to take the place of Eldritch Horror in anyone's deck. When evaluating the card, you should be looking at what mana cost *would you play the card* just to have the 4/12 body. I say 6 mana. If Blizzard printed a 6 mana 4/12 text-less minion, I bet it would see play. A 7 mana 4/12 body (which they would never print), probably would not see play, even though it is well statted.
So, that's why I say its 6 mana for the body, 1 mana for the discover, and 5+ mana for the insta-spell. The 6 mana is not what it would be printed at, but what it would be played at.
At the end of the day, everyone agrees it's a really good card. I don't know why everyone is fussing.
I got downvoted because the majority of people apparently has an IQ of 90 and snaps when they see something that could be related to math.
I'm interested in knowing more about the expansion. Are the teaser/reveal videos the only source for such information? Like, do we get to know why exactly Dalaran gets invaded?
I think that Twinspells and Lackeys are great ideas, they provide value without overdoing it.
Where is the
New Gameboard
Rise of Shadows Mega Bundle
I guess it's worth to mention this :)
actually boulderfist is super powerful in arena
The only good card so far is the legendary mage one.... The rest.... Meh
My calculation is "at what mana cost would you put a 4/12 vanilla body into a deck and see it being played". Yes, Boulderfist is a 6 mana 6/7, but it doesn't see play. If Blizzard printed a 8 mana 4/12 vanilla minion, it wouldn't see play. Even a 7 mana minion probably wouldn't. At 6 mana... possibly (definitely in priest).
In other news, why the hell was my post downvoted? What is controversial in that, lol?
they will never print a 6 mana 4 / 12
Mosh'Ogg Enforcer has roughly the same stat line with divine shield and taunt. But that card sees play because after you play it you can keep cheating it back for way less to combo.
It's tough (for me) to judge the worth of it's effect unless you have a plan on what spell you're going to cast with it. I would never rely on this to generate the spell I'm going to cast that turn. But Playing this and playing blizzard/flame strike ain't half bad I would say, then pyro blast double fireball, frost shock, for 25 the next turn (if our boy sticks).
2 attack vs 4 attack is a big deal
I would like to remind all of you that Sleepy Dragon is a very strong Arena card and even saw Constructed play. Taunt could be considered worth 1 mana. 8.5 seems about right.
@fluxflashor you should edit the mega bundle to say Golden Legendary
Hows diet for summer 2019 going?
Me: Chief Nomi
Christ, the cost of this game is worse than the cost of the dead game Black Ops 4. Transactivision killing it, Literally.
Makes me want to get off my lazy ass and play MTG again, at least those cards have resale value.
They said they will improve the game's rewards. They haven't announced it yet, but please be patient. I'm sure we will get something.
i hope so beppe
