Card Review
KiwiiNbacon has reviewed the new cards.
Why the hell do you think no aggro is a good thing? :D Usually people who hate aggro play decks weak to aggro - cancerous combos and such...
No, I like control, I like games where we really need to think.
But of course you don't will understand this, aggro player.
So... You want no aggro so you only face combo decks which destroy control?
Probably his definition of control: clear board until get mecha'thun
Honestly better make the hero card cost 1, and better give them plus attack or something to at least make the card playable.
Pretty psyched for this expansion...but they could have at least had him read from a book with text, instead of...blank pages, right?
Did you watch the Video? There was pure Text all over the pages"!
Nah. Every time he put his hands up to a point, they'd jump cut to right before he had done it. The joke was the low production value. Words are too expensive. :p
Ancient Depths = Azshara - plus look at the gem color.
The new set is upon us and I am very impressed with what blizzard has to offer this time around. New keywords and mechanics aside, I really apprciate the flashbacks we are getting and I do hope we get more of this in the future. In the meantime, here's a quick rundown of the new cards, I hope we can all agree that dragon mage sounds pretty sick :D
I have to say, this video is a lot better than their other ones since ben left.
Yeah they're usually 10/10 cringe, this one is only like 6/10... Glad to see they seem to be starting to realize most of their player base is over 8 years old.
What is the nature of evil?
How much mana does it cost?
Is it any good against hunter?
rofl
Dave is a global treasure and we should protect him at all costs
What we know so far about Lackeys...
One rogue card has been revealed with the keyword Lackey.
EVIL Miscreant - (3) 1/5 - Rogue Common - Combo: Add two random Lackeys to your hand
Lackeys all appear to be (1) 1/1. None of the five previewed have a tribe. And none have a rarity gem meaning that they are only available from cards that create lackeys and are not collectible. This first batch seems to all have a battlecry.
I'm going to guess that Lackeys in future sets will possibly get a bit bigger maybe (2) 2/2 or include Discover or Deathrattle effects.
I am looking forward to seeing how they keep this theme going all year.
=D13=
They seemed to suggest that they will be added to the same token pool, so I'm guessing they're going to try and keep a consistent power level, but add more options and abilities.
"A Hearthstone trilogy that will take us from flying cities to ancient depths. A journey where we will meet new friends and familiar enemies."
This basically confirms that Ulduar will be the 2nd Hearthstone expansion. We will prolly see a comeback of Bran Bronzebeard, Mimrion (and other mechs) and Yogg.
Kalecgos is a must-have card in almost any (non-aggro) mage deck. And a card I really like, because it is strong but not OP, and requires some modicum of skill to use properly.
But seriously, a 4/12 body is probably worth 6 mana, discover a spell is 1 mana, and then you get to cast (likely) a 5+ mana spell immediately. Incredible value, and as a 10-cost card, is a threat that needs to be removed (and is difficult to remove), and also affects the board immediately.
Love the design, love the card. I hope the rest of the expansion is more of the same.
a 4 / 12 body is worth at least 8.5 mana cost :)
More like 7.5, I think. stats-to-mana-cost ratio tends to be 2*mana+1 (see Boulderfist Ogre and Chillwind Yeti, and 4/12 is 16 stats.
