Deck Spotlight: Elemental Spellstone Mage, Rush Warrior, Mill Rogue
Today we're highlighting a few fun decks to take out onto the ladder. We're starting things off strong with an Elemental Mage deck and following up with a theorycraft Rush Warrior for post-rotation. Bonus: Wild Mill Rogue!
Although we're still just over a month away from the next set rotation (and new expansion), it's interesting to look at what is currently possible if you forget about cards from Journey to Un'Goro, Knights of the Frozen Throne, and Kobolds & Catacombs.

Hey thanks for the Mill Rogue spotlight. You should have put a Big Priest in here too, just to pour the rest of the toxic waste into the Wild pool. :)
Mill Rogue did not need a spot light. It's been infecting wild in one form or another since the blackrock expansion. This is nothing new, and listing it as a meta-breaker is laughable since half of the rogues I meet are Mill Rogues.
Thanks for spotlighting an evergreen concept that has been one of the most frustrating and one-sided to play against for years now. Whats next? An in-depth guide to how Barnes/Resurrect Priest is changing the face of the wild format?
I agree. Mill rogue, I'm sorry if you enjoy playing this deck but it's so degenerate. Might as well play agaisnt yourself
please don't insult my deck type
didnt mean for it to come off as insulting. Mill Rogue is part of the game, and I can accept that. But spotlighting it as some kind of innovative, meta-breaking deck concept is disingenuous
"Ruby Mage ~ Firelord's Servant" link isn't working!!!
Miss Thalnos in mill rogue, is he rly important???
Thalanos is never that important, but it does cover dual role of card draw and Spell Damage, so obviously you cant really replace it, but the deck does not break if you leave it out :)
Random tip: i was doing RR brawl quests in other regions on my acc and they seem to stack from previous weeks. I conceded 3 times to speedrun the Q and got the one from last week, so did that again and bam, 3 RR packs :) Cool! If someone likes to play out other regions, dont forget to get your 3 RR packs :)
Why on Earth isn’t book of spectres in the mage deck?!
Anti-synergy with the spells. After much testing, it's really only worth using in decks where two books is all you have for spells. That's why you never see elemental makes using the spellstone.
Spellstone in ele mage is pretty damn good. If you get a book, you rly dont care about burning any spells cause you have so much value in your hand already. This is not a good argument imho. Im playing ele mage with spellstones and i dont know what to do with all the spells i get lol :P
This deck has 4 spells and 25 minions, it's not really that anti-synergistic, because the odds are slim.
I play a deck similar to this and I run 2 Book of Specters, 2 Primordial Glyph and 2 Lesser Ruby Spellstone and I don't have any problems with the spell count at all. Even if Book of Specters is a 2 mana draw 2 card, it's still very good. Risk - reward situation. And it's worth it.
Rush Warrior is so close to being really good. I think it will be a force to be reckoned with in year of the dragon.
It will. The biggest problem right now is infinite value, you just can't beat infinite value by pinging.
Agreed, especially since Odd Warrior and Cubelock (by FAR the worst matchups, although Tempo Warrior generally doesn't perform very well vs. Control or DR-heavy decks) will be gone come April. And the departure of Odd Paladin means losing Blood Razor won't hurt that much, even though it could be replaced with Warpath. The archetype is very flexible regarding the build, as it can be combined with Dragons or Mechs. However, I think Oondasta doesn't belong here. It's way too slow and requires you to hold another (probably somewhat expensive) beast. Finally, you'd have to decide whether to go for a more Aggro or Mid Range route but that's more reliant on the future meta.
Like I said in the deck comment section, Dr. Boom is a better replacement for it.
I saw and commented on that Rush warrior yesterday and went and built one of my own. Still think it's a little too top heavy though.
