Baku and Gen the dominators
They should’ve asked a new expansion leak 😬

Watched everything. Pretty good interview. Thank you, Mr. Ayala, for answers ;-)
And this is probably the shortest Value Town ever :)
I want Baku and Genn completely shattered. I want Baku and Genn dissapear from the game until the forever. Trash cards, bad design, decks are boring with those two, surprise moment is gone, i don´t even like the art of these cards.
i wish there was a summery of this video. I dont really want to watch a hour long video.
I will cus I have to, but I wish there was a bluepost summery.
I watched the interview few days ago on twitch and I think he was pretty on point with questions. He answered almost all "important" topics like OTK counter card, Genn/Baku and Barnes, rotation vs nerfs on classic set and infinite resource cards like Rexxar and Jaina. He also admitted that he didn't expect so many odd/even decks during development.
I don't want to talk down on their effort, but is it even worth their time to make these? They only get a couple hundred views each, thats next to nothing for a one hour podcast. Are the view rates on Twitch any better?
A lot of people listen to podcasts via iTunes, Google Podcasts etc so I imagine their total listener count is significantly higher. Having said that I stopped listening to VT a while back because Gaara was super-annoying. I hear he has left now though so I might give it another go.
The You Tube VOD currently has 1654 views.
That's what I was saying! Switching Genn and Baku's cost won't solve anything
Just nerf Genn to 7 Mana and Baku to 8 Mana, problem solved!
Yeah, but 4 armor gain for 2 mana still remains a problem, no matter how you put it.
Moreover, if they do as you suggest, in odd turns Even decks will always have to leave at least 1 mana crystal unused, and the same goes for Odd decks in even turns: it is a big problem, since you'll never be able to fully use your resources.
We want Baku and Genn to be fairly balanced, not completely shattered!
Man so many people r/whoosh.
The man is saying then they will not be odd and even they will be even and odd so the decks won't so . Get it?
Some (not all) points by Iksar:
1. Odd/Even are design-limiting, but that is true for any deck shaping card. They do not see it as an issue about designing new cards.
1b. predictability in play is balanced by consistency, which they see as an upside.
2. Combo and OTK decks are meant to exist in a limited population, as a counter to infinite value decks.
2b.Mecha'thun was maybe a bit over the top, especially Priest.
3. They are going to release some disruptor on the line of Dirty Rat, soon.
To point 1
He also said Genn and specialy Baku are a much bigger problem than expected. They thought it would be good in Paladin and Warrior, and they could have addressed that, but having several odd and even decks viable would make it very hard / inelegantly to nerf them for each class separate.
More important , he also said they are looking to solve this problem ( odd / even) before the next expansion......
( PS . most importantly, he answered my question about Chakki^^ )
The fact that they have already acknowledged Genn/Baku effect EVERY card in design is a huge red flag. When a card effect your design process forever it should be removed immediately. There's just no way to balance these cards. You could literally make them both 0/1 and cost 10 mana and players would still play with them. They need to bite the bullet and remove them from the game and just dust refund everyone. Sure some people will get upset but for the long term health of the game it needs to happen.
Agree, I already said weeks ago they should be pre-Hall of Famed.
