Discuss This Week's Brawl
Head on over to our dedicated discussion thread on our Tavern Brawl forums.
enjoying this brawl
I enjoyed this brawl, I like the randomness of it. It makes a nice refreshing change from the ladder and you have to think on your feet.
I finally got a win so I am happy. Agreed that this brawl takes a small investment of time to complete. It slows down even more when you only have one or two cards in hand before the draw. But it was all worth it, my pack had a Nat Pagle in it.
it takes FOREVER to do anything in this brawl. one done
Okay fanboy
Sure, it's RNG, and lost my first game to a priest that got Rhonin and Tyrantus, but this actually has more skill than you might think, since you actually have to decide whether to play your average minion now or wait for the next turn and try to get a better one. Same with spells. So there's (a little) skill involved.
Moreover, I'm willing to bet people playing this brawl get a lot of minions/spell they've never seen played, or even have't seen at all. It's a nice way for newer players to get to know cards that might not be all that bad but never made it into the meta.
Case in point: Giant Sand Worm. can win you this brawl and never saw any meaningful constructed play.
I don't get people hating on random Tavern Brawls, it's gamemode meant for fun in card game with rng as it's biggest difference, if you hate randomness, why do you even play this game, if you want fun gamemode with less amount of rng, play Magic cube instead.
You knew what you were going into while downloading HS, so did I, but instead of being all negative about random factor in gamemode you don't have to play (yes, just get a friend, play 2 games, quickly get one of you to 15 (you can pick Warlock/Hunter depending who's getting the win to make it faster) and concede) I take it as casual fun to just chill out.
Well said!
Yes, FUN is the keyword, and I had very little fun getting my pack this week. With no way to plan ahead or predct plays I don't even feel like I play the same game, and it takes forever to close them out too.
Like I said in my previous comment, you CAN and SHOULD plan ahead, and then you'd still lose games, but win more.
Every time there's an RNG brawl, which is indeed more often than not, people come out of the woodwork with profanities and threats to quit the game like anybody cares, and then come back to the forums on the next brawl to do it again.
Considering Blizzard certainly has access to FAR more statistics than any other player or site, they probably know exactly how many games each tavern brawl brings. So When bringing back old ones, maybe it means a lot of players invest their time in playing multiple games instead of posting hate comments (I obviously don't, as I took the time to reply to several people here, but a lot of others probably do).
P.S. you're not the first person I noticed saying the games are too long, and I agree starting with 3 mana would be much better, like some other slow brawls. Maybe next time...
Even having 10 rng-changing cards in your hand you can easily get screwed over. Sure, you can "plan ahead" not using your cards but playing each turn like a minigame pays off better. One lucky powerturn, and you win.
Ummm....maybe because this one was so random it wasn't fun. When you never get a card that isn't awful and your opponent plays nothing but powerful legendaries, then it can be really not fun to just get smorced with no chance to even be competitive. If a fun game mode is anything but fun, then that is probably a fail. I did not find tavern brawl fun this time. I'm not sure how that makes me or anyone who did not enjoy it wrong or bad.
Or it could mean that it took forever for people to get their packs bc it was a flawed and awful design. Ppl may have had to play a lot to get a win bc it was so random that no matter how good a player someone is they lose thanks to the flawed design.
I will be insta-conceding on EU server for an hour just to help people take the the pack without spending 40 mins in a skillless-brainless game.
SHITCON should be the name. Horrible bullshit, signals the end of Hearthstone...even the Huntard meta itself is showing as a problem hard to fix...not even a 16k dust mage can win against braindead strategy or Minion boost everyturn... Time to move on... Hearthstone, a game full of bait decks and bad dev decisions, with more than 25 deck styles but with only 3 or 4 in the ladder and always a Dominating bait deck/class...
Good
Bye, Felicia!
Since when does the dust cost decide the power level of the deck? (excluding the budget decks of course) This isn't a P2W game.
Okay, bye then :)
Oh no... random stranger
many kids around here...this game has become shit for real
Many fanboys...
