The Gift Exchange Brawl Has Returned This Week!
Great Father is dropping crates on the battlefield! Get a gift each time you smash your opponent's crate... or your own!
Trivia
- This is the third time we've seen this brawl.
- Gift Exchange first debuted on December 14, 2015.
- There was a lot of community outrage when Blizzard didn't activate this for Holiday 2016.
- We saw this brawl in February 2017 to make up for the missed Holiday 2016.
- This was the first brawl that rewarded a card back for it's reward.
How it Works
- Build a custom deck using cards from your own collection.
- At the start of your turn, provided there is not a Winter's Veil Gift on your side of the field, Greatfather Winter will drop one off.
- Destroying a Gift will give you a Stolen Winter's Veil Gift.
- Stolen Winter's Veil Gift allows you to Discover a card from the class of the player the originating Gift minion came from.
- You are only able to receive cards which initially cost at least 5 mana.
- The cost of the card is reduced by 5 mana.
- You are unable to Discover weapons.
- If you obtain a Stolen Gift through a card like Mind Vision, it will only pull cards from the neutral set.
- You have a chance of seeing Hardpacked Snowballs in the Discover mechanic.
Basically, it works like this.
Cool Interactions
Share yours in the comments!
- Crazed Alchemist allows you to trigger gifts on your side of the field easily.
- Doomsayer clears the board after your gift is dropped which could easily result in two Stolen Gifts if opponent passes.
- Priests could Divine Spirit + Inner Fire a gift on their side of the field for a nice present to the face - if it survives a full turn!
- Mages love Flamewaker! Plenty of fun thanks to the Stolen Gift spells.
- Warlocks could drop a Void Terror after using Power Overwhelming on a gift.

Discuss this Week's Brawl
Head on over to the forums to discuss this brawl!
this still going, is it for the winter veil cardback?
After >40 games of Mind Blast OTK Priest, the dream finally happened. I hope this silly brawl returns in the future.
just build a warlock deck with all the cards you have that kill your own minions, and there, free win.
Finally my favorite Brawl is back - Was sad that they didn't bring it back last year. Sadly a lot of people still don't know how to build a deck revolving around destroying gifts - just had 3 games against opponents which deck didn't do anything to destroy gifts and they lost because of that.
Made a Jingle Bomb Hunter that was fun to play, lots of options for killing gifts and also leaving some in the form of 0/2 bombs for your opponent to open or you can help them via Void Ripper or Mossy Horror...
This brawl is like free gold given the amount of people who don't understand goal-oriented deck building and just paste zoolock or spell hunter.. Can't complain though!
I'd gladly exchange the card back for a pack
I'd gladly give up all of the for a pack each. Or even all for one pack, they are useless anyway
hearthstone "card back" as they call it , confusing choice of words if you ask me are boring as hell, i rather i have some " packs" instead.
I'd gladly pay you Tuesday for a hamburger today.
EXACTLY MY POINT

This one works for me
Another Cancer brawl. You only see 1 deck and that's the warlock, instant kill crates deck. If they wanted this brawl to be fair, they would've made the crates "Deathrattle: Give your enemy a gift" instead of the person who's turn it is.
You are suposed to build a deck around killing creates as they spaw and use minions that can interact with it somehow like Mirage Caller
Giving "Deathrattle: Give your enemy a gift" is a bad idea since decks would focus on buffing the creates instead of opening it.
I just played discard lock with the wild cards and got a lot of tempo swings with it, I ended up with a big hand with broken board control against a secret hunter, The Cataclysm helped me a lot for the 2 chests and board clear. I got a lot of tempo thanks for the minions i discovered
Doesn’t help that in the article thumbnail, there’s a picture of the old card back 🤷♂️
First try started with Whizbang. Turn 3 got the gift against hunter. Nice 4 mana Call of the wild. GG
Amazing, that some people are playing netdecked Spell Hunter in this brawl.
Amazing is that you are being downvoted just because you told the truth.
A lot of netdecks in there, a cool brawl where you can experiments something out of normal and TA DA people just play t1
Downvotes happen, just take it as a sign of being right. My guess in the 'lesser' hunters (spell/secret) are getting edgy as they start to ride the old struggle bus on ladder as the meta solves their decks. Anyway, it's basically lambs to the slaughter for people bringing their ladder deck.
