The Gift Exchange Brawl Has Returned This Week!
Great Father is dropping crates on the battlefield! Get a gift each time you smash your opponent's crate... or your own!
Trivia
- This is the third time we've seen this brawl.
- Gift Exchange first debuted on December 14, 2015.
- There was a lot of community outrage when Blizzard didn't activate this for Holiday 2016.
- We saw this brawl in February 2017 to make up for the missed Holiday 2016.
- This was the first brawl that rewarded a card back for it's reward.
How it Works
- Build a custom deck using cards from your own collection.
- At the start of your turn, provided there is not a Winter's Veil Gift on your side of the field, Greatfather Winter will drop one off.
- Destroying a Gift will give you a Stolen Winter's Veil Gift.
- Stolen Winter's Veil Gift allows you to Discover a card from the class of the player the originating Gift minion came from.
- You are only able to receive cards which initially cost at least 5 mana.
- The cost of the card is reduced by 5 mana.
- You are unable to Discover weapons.
- If you obtain a Stolen Gift through a card like Mind Vision, it will only pull cards from the neutral set.
- You have a chance of seeing Hardpacked Snowballs in the Discover mechanic.
Basically, it works like this.
Cool Interactions
Share yours in the comments!
- Crazed Alchemist allows you to trigger gifts on your side of the field easily.
- Doomsayer clears the board after your gift is dropped which could easily result in two Stolen Gifts if opponent passes.
- Priests could Divine Spirit + Inner Fire a gift on their side of the field for a nice present to the face - if it survives a full turn!
- Mages love Flamewaker! Plenty of fun thanks to the Stolen Gift spells.
- Warlocks could drop a Void Terror after using Power Overwhelming on a gift.

Discuss this Week's Brawl

Downvoted disappeared.
He was at -4, now he is at +5/-1.
Weird people
Then why are you advertising the actually good card back? The one that many players (new and old) are still trying to get?
It doenst work like you said.
You get the NEW card back (previous brawl) and then if you already got it, you get a card pack in this brawl.
If you missed the previous brawl then you will get the card back today.
Understood?
No 2017 card back involved.
I didn't get the old Winter cardback instead I got a card pack. Was I supposed to get the old Winter cardback? I got the new one last week.
The brawl is supposed to give you the 2018 card back or a pack.
It is supposed to be the card back if you didn't do the Brawl last week, or a pack if you did.
Watched the video of the kid opening the N64 present.
Is it bad I react similarly when I pack a legendary despite being 6 times older than the kid?
Nice Warlock vs Warlock coinflip-brawl
Chemists need to be banned from this as well as Valeera. Utter mongo nonsense.
I build my decks by picking Warlock then searching 'destroy' and adding cards, then search 'swap' add those, then add damage spells. It seems you would need to ban more than just Chemist.
For example 100% winrate with warlock:
The 100% isn't an exaggeration, at least not for all the accounts I played on. Most wins were by concession.
This worked for me. I did have to make a few substitutions though. It kinda helped that one of my gifts was a card called malganis. Instant concede after I played it.
Get Princess Talanji and more than likely win the match.
As if this brawl would go to round 8..
You can get her through a present, and she costs 3.
correction, i just played a priest until fatigue.. how wrong i was
So, this brawl is supposed to offer those who didn't acquire the original Winter Veil card back another chance to get it? Too bad then, I got a classic pack instead :(
Or does it just offer a second week to get the gingerbread one?
Yes, it's just another chance for the gingerbread one, not the original Winter Veil card back. From Blizzard's blog:
"If you already received the Winter Veil Treat card back, this brawl will award a Classic card pack. If not then it’s another chance to earn Winter Veil Treat."
Also if you look at in-game card back collections, the original says "Acquired from Winter Veil 2015-2017" and the new one says 2018.
