fixed the headline ... "most-boring-decks-from-hct-philadelphia"
I hope we will have a tournament/custom mode soon in hearthstone.. those meta-esport-events are just boring²²...
i wanna see some kind of draft-tournaments or different rule-sets, custom "standard-rotation" with different sets/cards allowed... it was also painful to see so many missplays from the "best" players out there
The same classes dominating the scene as usual. Its about time that warriors get some love.
I was wondering who pays for these tournaments (prize pool / organization / venue etc)?
This tournament only has a couple hundred views per match on Youtube, which is negligible. When these tournaments are streamed on Twitch they often only have a couple thousand viewers. The live crowds often seem to be so empty that they're not even shown on camera.
Is really just Blizzard pumping money into the E-sport scene? These things can't possibly run a profit, or am I completely wrong in my assumptions?
The sponsors pay for the event. Poor Indie company Blizzard cannot afford to pay for the events themselves just the prizes.
Why tho? They seem to add up to a couple of thousand, maybe a couple ten thousand viewers. That's nothing in the advertising world.
It's a platform to reach out to highly engaged audiences with an interest in what you're selling, assuming you're not a company that's just randomly sponsoring events, of course.
Looks like a copy and paste of every deck we have seen for the last year+.
Not a single warrior :/
April can’t come fast enough...
3 full expansions a year and a standard set featuring SIX of them plus classic and basic might be too much for this game. I wonder if standard should just be the previous four or something like that?
Not really, I disagree.
I also wish april anyway, but, like you said, eight sets (expansions + classic + basic) are not a big thing once you almost don't use the basic set and use few classic cards. It depends of the meta, of course, but we'll see very more cards from expansion sets than classic or basic cards, it's the normal. And we play with eight sets for a little time, just four months, because, well, we always play the new expansion set with the other sets for four months, but sometimes in standard we play with six sets, this in april. We just gain two more expansion sets during the year and it's a big deal anyway, but which are, and what do, the cards that are brought to us in this expansion sets are truly more important than the quantity of cards.
3 expansions per year is simply too much, that's nearly 400 cards per year of which 75 are legendary. How can we ever keep up with that, even when spending money?
This also results in shenanigans like Warlock having FIVE legendary cards dedicated to a single deck type (discard) in a single standard rotation. That's 8000 dust for cards you can only use in one deck.
Wouldn’t have even known there was a new expansion...
I know it's hard to wait for another 4 months, but the meta will be amazing in 4 months where the power level will drop so far, that some of these weird and interesting cards will really shine, and we'll have to reevaluate every single card again.
New expansion out? When?
That's so bullshit man. Yeah, we wait 4 months for rotations and then we have the same boring meta which barely changes with each expansion released. Blizz needs to make better cards, make more nerfs and buffs after the release of an expansion to keep the meta fresh.
Honestly I would be more happy with 2 expansions per year, but with often changes. The game is literally dead after an expansion releases.
If they make better cards then whats the point of the rotation? imho after the rotation the meta is gonna be really good due to some cancerous cards that blizzard printed on previous expansions.. the dk heroes can go fuck themselves because they ruin ANY fun when you are playing a control deck and you face a hunter with rexxar.. oh and turn 2 prince bullshit also.
With each expansion the power level on some cards arent stupidly high like previously which is good.
The expansion sets are fixed, dude. We have it in april, august and december ALWAYS. Remember that in april we have the exchange in standard and the start of the new year in the game (year of the kraken, year of the mammoth, year of the raven).
i think he meant good cards by " better cards " not cancerous like u say , besides ur purpose seem coherent just for u , cause u don t have fun facing control or face decks but like stupidly high powered cards which DK 's are all about & insides every archetypes because there power are too high . In shortwhile i agree overpowered cards like DK shouldn t be allowed for the good of the game , i can t seem to view a good futur for this game since dev team are already printing replacements for KotFT DK's & are still gonna be there after April ( Hagatha ; Dr Boom ; & ofc Zul'jin ) ain t nobody gonna enjoy the power thoses 3 hold when april comes .
Hagatha, dr boom and zuljin are less oppressive than jaina and rexxar tho. I'm not saying dr boom is any bad or not powerful but, at least for me, it doesn't feel so OP. Just very strong which is fine. And I don't even play warrior much :P
Priest and Mage are pretty popular classes these days :-(
Warrior either (LOL).
To be honest - other
76 classes are presented well. That's good!
