Tauren is being hit tho, not casting spells
Meh i dont think elemental mage is gonna work especially after jaina rotates out.
Won't see play.
It's a pretty good card don't get me wrong, but Elemental decks are set in stone because of Book of Specters, and that alone is a reason not to run this card.
And I cannot for the life of me see an elemental deck tossing the book out just for this and Elemental Evocation. Even the latter is kinda pushing it (but probably worth it) I think Fire Plume Phoenix, Blazecaller and Voodoo Doll as the removal cards will still suffice.
It's a pretty powerful addition to elemental mage. 1 mana deal 4 is a huge tempo swing.
tier 1 mage next expansion?
Somewhat similar to Wing Blast which didn't see much play.
However, it might be included in elemental-heavy mage decks.
This is much better than wing blast, wing blast was so awkward to use.
I didn't wanted to craft Pyro.. but now I might have to.. elemental mage seems a lot stronger now!
yea but then pyro rotates out the expansion after this one
I've really enjoyed playing elemental grinder mage in constructed and especially in wild reno decks, but I will admit that they've always been quite weak. The objective of the elemental archetype is to gain tempo and value at the same time by playing minions and getting card generation for it. The problem is the elementals are poorly stated and slow to compensate for their high value potential. You fail to keep up with aggro or other tempo decks while filling your hand with a bunch of junk that other control decks can often wait out for big board clears.
The new elemental mage cards from this expansion change everything for the better by fixing the main problems of the archetype. You may be getting less value out of your deck by playing cards for mana discounts and tempo purposes but whenever I play elemental based decks I find myself with a full hand or junk that I can't get rid of followed by expensive cards that I can't play alongside each other. I'm really looking forward to using these cards and reinventing my constructed elemental mage deck. It'll be more well rounded in that it'll more consistently be able to survive until the late game against the aggro decks to play DK Jaina.
Mage seems like it has the tools of creation for some better decks.
now that one unimpressed Tauren.!
I can see some kind of tempo elemental mage that tries to burn down their opponent by using Phoenix, blazecaller, and other burst.
This could actually be very strong in a tempo Elemental deck, it's so much easier to just play an elemental (as you would be doing anyways). Wing blast was awkward because you'd have to kill something in the same turn in order to efficiently deal with another big threat. Often with one big guy, you'd have to trade your weak thing into it to use the blast.
the competition of frost bolt and Fireball is a bit too tough
looks like Wing Blast but it seems easier to lower the cost to me. At least until Un'goro elementals leave.
Thanks god it is only for minions. :)
aand mage has done with reveals which is the first class of rr that all cards revealed.
i don't like judging a book by its specter but this card does not fit in elemental mage
Pretty good, elemental decks may see a surge to power, let’s see
watching this live on her stream, I have no idea what's going on but she's dressed as jaina.
originally listed on here as "Fluffy Fire Spell" lol.
