Curves out well with Candleshot but annoys you to death when you have Eaglehorn Bow and this in your hand on T3 unless you have a coin and can equip weapon on T2.
Another thing is 3 slot already have cards like Animal Companion and Bearshark so cutting something for this might be a tough decision.
Maybe best use for this is in late game when you are looking for some certain answer for certain situation.
Not a bad card but not an auto-include for every deck.
This looks like a well balanced card to me. Even if you play it without a weapon equipped it's still fine.
Hunter spells tend to be pretty good. It'll probably see play in a deck looking to play a bit more slowly.
Hunter gets good card draw and no tempo loss card generation this expansion? Is the world ending on Dec 5th or something?
Hunter can take care of mostly any situation with the right spell: Hunter's Mark, Deadly Shot, and Crushing Walls to deal with tall minions, Explosive Trap, Grievious Bite, and Unleash the Hounds for wider boards, Unleash the Hounds and Kill Command for face damage. It comes down to whether or not they have it in hand, and if I'm not mistaken this is the first time Hunters will be given a spell Discover tool.
I have no doubt this will see play.
Purely Arena card. Usually random is a bad idea for constructed.
Dude, you know how many times Hunters have weapons equipped? This is insane for Hunters in Constructed. Not only that, but the pool of Hunter spells is insane.
-Kill Command
-Hunter's Mark
-Crushing Walls
-Play Dead
-Animal Companion
-Greivinous Bite
And much more.
A really good card. Very nice. I like.
This will go nicely in my odd secret plan spellstone hunter!
The deck in wich you'll put it already runs a lot of 3 drops, and FFS can blizzard stop with the discover catds how about some echo or other mechanics for a change same goes for beasts and dragons
Poor statline so it doesn't feel all that good to drop as a vanilla, and a SUPER restrictive condition just to get what essentially amounts to 'draw a card that is oftentimes worse than a card in your deck'. Unless they reveal a super-compelling weapon to go with this you can only have at max 5 weapons in your deck in standard, one of which requires a deck setup entirely counterintuitive to this card's effect, and Wild I feel has better options for support that relies on weapons. I'd like it more if it were a 3/5.
A 3 mana 3/5? Really? And with an upside?! You make it sound like discovering a secret is a downside!
Whoops, looks like the bandwagon brigade got to me. I forgot how much they hate constructive analysis
Look at all these 3-Drops i can't hold
a hunter card that has "strategist" in the title
brilliant
Because of DK Rexxar, Hunter has become the class with the most dynamic game decisions. IOW, it is the hardest class to play.
I assume you don't play Hunter.
I know, I know, but old memes die hard.
One of the strongest cards of the expansion, you can exspect to see this in every aggro hunter and beyond. Auto include in Wild with Glaivezooka.
This has to compete with so many other 3 drops that I doubt this'll see play before rotation.
Won't find much of a place in the current standard format with too many cards that take precedence over this - Spellstone, Bearshark, Crackling Razormaw, Traps, Flanking Strike - but after the rotation may be a nice fit in midrange.
Card generation with a decent body, although the condition being hard to pull off as hunter will only have one viable weapon after the rotation in Eaglehorn Bow.
We'll have to wait and see if another cheap weapon is introduced and given the expansion's theme I gather there will be.
