Yeah, I'm pretty sure you're wrong on that. There's a pretty significant difference between 3 damage and 7, so it's going to be pretty common for this to outright kill whatever minion it hits. There's also the fact that Crowd Roaster is itself a dragon, furthering dragon synergies where Blackwing Corruptor does not.
Honestly, this card is much closer to Blazecaller or Firelands Portal, both of which are very good. Hell, you could even make a case for comparing it to Vilespine Slayer since the damage is so high, outright killing all but the highest of health minions.
In short, I disagree with you.
the fact that you can't pressure face make's this card effective mostly in passive control. Wish i did 8 damage to a minion, I'd call the card good at the point.
Looked at the name and was half expecting a fighter in the arena heckling the audience.
Turns out the 'roasting' is literal.
It's like a big burp . It's impressive when it comes out, but if it lingers more than a few seconds, that's where you'll find the true value.
This is a worse Blackwing Corruptor and that card was 29th in every dragon deck. Like Priest didn't even play it in dragon age. This one is worse. So I really doubt it.
In a dragon deck (either Dragon Priest in wild or the new Dragon Warrior in standard) this can fulfill a role of Firelands Portal and we all know how good Firelands Portal was.
Cons:
- only target damage with minions
- requires another dragon
Pros:
- higher damage output
- most of the time a better minion
You gonna play it I'm pretty sure if some dragon decklist will be tier 1 lmao xd
7/4 is 4.5 worth of stats, deal 7 to a minion is 4 worth of stats, bundling is another 1.5 of value, knock off a Mana for the condition and you still have a heck of a good card, especially for a neutral epic
So pumped for dragon warrior.Hope the warrior legendary dragon is good.
War loa is rhino, not dragon.
Dracarys!
why would i EVER play that?
the answer is i won't, even if it did 500 to a minion
Why every mage deck player Firelands Portal?? In dragon deck this is the very same card.
Doesn't seem so much a "Crowd" roaster as a "Attendant" roaster.
7/4 is like 4 worth of stats. So 3 Mana to deal 7 to a minion.... not insase by itself, just need some more good dragons and we got a tier 2 deck.
We should not look for cards like 10/10 because game will not be balanced and we don't like it. This card is good and balanced at the same time. Great card!
11 stats (7/4) typically cost 5 mana on a vanilla minion. Bundle that with a slightly worse Flame Lance (7 dmg instead of 8) for just an additional two mana (+dragon condition, but you wouldn't really play this if you couldn't activate it consistently) and you have a very high value minion, not to mention that it's neutral when it's easily strong enough to be a class card.
7 damage is very good but not killing lich king or giants in one shot feels annoying.
Is that you, blackwing corruptor? My how you've grown (and got a dragon tag of your own!)
Blazecaller didn't see competitive play because the elemental decks aren't viable for competitve play, Blazecaller is one of the best elemental cards out there, if not the best.
