Exactly
This time mage get some good shit you guys.
Yes, it does
Why do they keep printing "add random spell" cards? They are super inconsistant, and not very fun to play nor play against.
I know you want to show off all that artwork of useless cards, but come on...
Whether "add random spell" cards are fun depends on the player. As the mage analogue to burgle effects in rogue, and knowing that since Witchwood the player base has been quite welcoming of those cards, I am sure there is a (not insignificant) subset of players who are happy with each additional card to add to casino mage.
That said, i think it is also an easy (lazy?) way to ensure these cards never get out of hand.
Well i can at least guarantee you NO one ever would enjoy getting flamestriked by random card generation.
True but people don't often enjoy dying to Mecha'thun either. That doesn't mean it is necessarily bad since the person playing it can enjoy it a lot. No card is going to be liked by everyone, but it is worth creating cards so that everyone enjoys something.
Ultimately, in the world of card games HS is the best at this sort of thing. As long as it stays on relatively low power level cards and therefore carries a cost in overall win rate such that meta decks rarely use them, then they should absolutely keep printing cards like this.
Like worse version of Bane of doom, which doesn't see play?
Bane of Doom isn't AOE.
That depends. Does the overkill trigger for each kill?
Yes, I do recall Bane of Doom doing 2 damage to all minons.
Celestial Emissary
yup this way is a flamestrike in disguise with upsides
Wait... how does overkill work here?
You get one card per minion overkilled?
Yes, that was confirmed in the article.
Wow, if this is true, the card is really good.
100 dust
Yes, I don't 5 mana 2 damage AOE, I pass.
Hello Odd Paladin
Is overkill once a spell or for every minion you overkill?
