This is an enabler that Healadin desperately needed vs control. Huge potential for it become an actual deck with this card and Crystallizer added in . 5/5 card imo.
Just make sure to play the two cards in the right order if you're playing them on the same turn :)
I think if you play Crystallizer after High Priest Thekal, you'll just lose 5 armor, gain 5 armor.
Actually, you may be right.
I am still wrapping my head around it, does it even benefit you to play this legendary with Crystallizer? The legendary sets your Health to one or in other words take 29 damage gain 29 armor. Crystallizer would set your health to 25 and gain 5 armor, then with this legendary, it sets your Health to 1 and you gain 24 armor? Doesnt seem like you would benefit if you play them both on the same turn.
It doesnt matter if you play them on the same turn, there its better to just play the highpriest
There's no reason to play them on the same turn, but both are healing activators, so it's a good idea to run both in healadin.
A hilarious footnote that I didn't notice at first is that this card counters Alexstrasza pretty hard, no more Alex into triple Mind Blast against Control Priest just wrecking you.
Plenty of people already pointed it out but the reason you play Crystallizer and the High Priest in Healadin is not because of their synergy when played together. It's for fixing Healadin's consistency issue when you're playing against a control deck that just does it's own thing (Odd Warrior, Maly/Tog/Mech'thun Druid, Big Spell Mage) and doesn't damage you denying you the oppurtunity to make your healing cards/heal synergy cards (Truesilver Champion, Lesser Pearl Spellstone, Blackguard) any good. Also Crystallizer is a 1 mana 1/3 versus aggro, so it's just good for the deck both versus aggro and control.
heal paladin coming-in strong
the term healadin is redundant since WoW has an actual Holy paladin spec, it's Holy Pal as it is
I forsee a Healing Giant coming this expansion.
Nice card. It cost 3 mana, so there is big chance that you will be able to heal the same turn as well. This expansion has much more cards which somehow can see some play, than before.
Thank you Blizzard! This is exactly what Healadin needed, but now we just want 1-2 more Lifesteal or healing effects and were gucci! Btw I had a close concept to this a while ago, which it had a keyword just to slightly make it carry its weight. https://www.reddit.com/r/customhearthstone/comments/94xv91/paladin_savila_bloodborne_legendaryhealadin/
For the most part, Healadin has been a meme-tier deck for the past couple of years because its heals are often dead draws whenever it queues into a control deck. Now they aren't.
I mostly play Wild. The new card opens up space for a deck that hasn't seen play since the open beta - Koyuki's Giant Paladin. Whether or not Healadin variants are good enough to compete with Odd Paladin is anyone's guess - but that isn't really the point. The new card is one of the most interesting that Team 5 has produced, and it will be fun for lots of players to try and "break" it in both formats for the next couple of months.
Not sure why this got downvoted. Anti-armor tech has been asked for by many in the community for years. While I do really like this card and look forward to playing Healadin, this card pretty much nullifies the chance that Blizz would print a “remove all armor” card based on the amount of rage it would generate if you played it against this legendary. Some consider that good but I would like to see something like that in the game.
I personally wouldn't mind but too many people complain about their wombo combos not working due to proper tech cards. To prove my point even further, I get downvoted for providing a valid comment. This community just has a hard-on for mindless armor stacking without consequences. My favourite warrior deck involves huge armor stacking and even I see the value in an armor removal tech card.
No you dont need armor interaction. The point is that now you can easily activate cards that need you to restore health, cause now you have 29 health missing
Lets say you go from 25 life to 24 armor and 1 life. You can now heal up to 30 life while they are trying to scrape off your armor layer. I’ve been playing a lot of control paladin lately and I do a ton of overhealing, especially against control and combo matchups. Now you can bank those heals.
Yes, molten giant DOES work.
