Quote from DaxxarriRikkar stood on the intricately cobbled path and gazed up at the fabled Gurubashi Arena. Ever since he was a little troll, he’d dreamt of being here, preparing to compete at the legendary Rumble. As the crowd streamed past him toward the gates, he paused to savor the moment: the thrill of anticipation on the air, the roar of the crowd in the stands, the grimaces of pain as chumps paid the scalper for last minute tickets. Nothing in the world was like Rastakhan’s Rumble!
Rikkar had spent his whole life preparing for this moment (and bought his tickets two years ago. He wasn’t foolish). Last time the Rumble was held, Rikkar was small enough to watch the action from his father’s shoulders, screaming at the top of his lungs along with the crowd as he witnessed High Priest Thekal clinch the final for the Tigers over the Sharks. He knew it then: someday HE would be down on the sands, and the crowd would be roaring HIS name!
As he joined the long line leading into the arena, the team posters that adorned the walls caught his eye. They were pristine, unlike his well-loved, but creased and faded collection back at the village.
The Tigers! Now there was a team! Rikkar could see himself earning Shirvallah’s favor and wearing the gold. He’d been training all his life: he had the eye of the tiger . . . the thrill of the fight . . . the wing of a bat . . . and a few other animal parts, just in case. Rikkar came prepared.
One thing you could say for the Bats, Hir’eek’s team knew how to get the job done. And shriek. And do absolutely anything it takes to win. Rikkar had to respect the initiative.
Why be a Bat when you could be a Rhino though? No fancy tactics or thinking. Got a problem? Smash it! Don’t got a problem? Smash it anyway! Plus, everybody loves War Master Voone. Not only are Voone’s parties legendary, rumor has it that he’s got friends in high places. Blackrock Mountain is pretty high up, right?
Rikkar couldn’t believe it. Twenty years later, he was finally part of the crowd thronging into the Gurubashi Arena. His heart was resolved: he wasn’t just here to watch the spectacle this time. He was here to compete! Somehow. . . .
He just needed a chance to prove himself!
But which team would he join? Which Loa would he pledge himself to?

It was confirmed in a tweet that Overkill only works on your turn. So you have to be the one killing.
Going by what it says on Hearthpwn list, it should not require it to attack and kill and in your scenario it would trigger. This is because all it says "If you deal more damage than the amount of remaining health a minion has, the effect will activate."
A little known fact, Geosculptor Yip actually likes opera, but close enough! :)))
Heavy Metal seems very underwhelming - Geosculpter without the stats for 2 less mana.. meh
Don't fit into Odd Warrior either for that Tank Up hero ability synergy
Lackluster
Ticket Scalper, on the other hand, might work - draw 2 on turn 4 with a decent body - I reckon overkill will be relatively common/easy to achieve early on on low-health cards; so yeah, seems decent
this shit is too boring to reveal after days of silence.
Dunno that it necessarily fits into recruit warrior. The archetype needs more lower mana cost support; something to do on turns 1-5. This seems pretty bad.
I feel like Ticket Scalper could definitely see play. 5/3 on turn 4 would rarely trade efficiently, but this time, you could get card draw for that inefficient trade. Arcane Intellect is 3 mana for two cards, so this is like AI with a 5/3 Pirate for 1 extra mana, assuming it kills something with 4 or less health, and as a turn 4 play, that is very likely. Late game, not so much. Not meta defining, and you'd have to work with a deck that understands how to handle this potentially awkward tempo play, but all I'm saying is I wouldn't write it off.
the first thing i noticed with heavy metal is the even cost...
Well.. Would've liked to see a little more than a total of 3 mediocre cards within 2 weeks after the announcement : /
Its barely been over a week
A Pirate that encourages trading is pretty interesting, but I'm not sure it'll fit into those aggressive constructed decks. Probably a really good Arena card. I've always been a fan of Geosculptor Yip, I really hope the card sees some play.
Now that I think about it, why wasn't Ticket Scalper revealed in the Wronchi cartoon? Oh well, thus begins the slow drip of card reveals!
Heavy metal seems like a really good card so for warrior to drop some bigger threats, especially against opponents who won't be pressing their armor early. It's possibly pretty weak against opponents who pressure your armor a lot early so that might make it a bit of a dead card in those matchups. Good thing it's not an odd card though.
Ticket scalper's overkill is really strong and with its high attack it's easy to proc. Maybe a tempo rogue card since they can often control the early board, and getting it to attack just once is great value. It's not super easy to do 3 damage from hand. Not sure if this would see play or not.
So pack filler and Geosculptor Yip.....without the stick?
Bring it on for a guaranteed 10-drop on turn 8 seems to weak. I feel like if Recruit Warrior didn't see play with Gather Your Party which could net you a 10-drop at turn 6, then I don't see this working either.
But...recruit warrior DID see play. It was by no means a tier one deck but you can't just claim nobody played recruit warrior when there's hours of video proving otherwise.
yeah, and Quest Hunter saw play too then. Some people played the deck, but it's relevance in the meta was basically zero. Also, most cards that don't show up in constructed are usually considered pack filler.
If this Pirate attacks, overkills and dies, Does he draw card?
I would say yes, think about poisonous minions, they deal their damage and BEFORE they die the poison triggers, same thing here I would bet
Yes
I haven't found clarification, but does overkill trigger when minion gets attacked, or it's only active during your turn?
In that case it's not the worst since it has good chance to cycle itself (+draw) when enemy trades with a 2 drop.
