The Headless Horseman Rides is This Week's Brawl!
It's time to battle the Headless Horseman! We'll arm you with the finest Hallow's End costumes Azeroth has to offer.
Trivia
- This is the second time we've seen this brawl.
- The first time we saw this brawl was on October 25, 2017 for last year's Hallow's End event.
- The brawl is a part of the Hallow's End Hearthstone Event for 2018.
- This is a PvE brawl, no player opponent this time! Your opponent is the Headless Horseman.
- Passive hero powers are in use for the player, a rarity!
Choose Your Costume
You get to choose a costume to wear on your first turn. This gets rid of your Stormwind Champions and draws you a new hand.
- Witch Costume - Your hero power is Witchcraft. Your deck is based on spell synergies.
- Pirate Costume - Your hero power is Conscript. Your deck is based on pirate synergies.
- Cat Costume - Your hero power is Sense Weakness. Your deck is based on beasts and kitty things like Claw.
Each deck is predetermined. These were last year's decks, they may be the same this year (Validation incoming)

The Fight
- The Headless Horseman starts off with 30 Health. His hero power, Slash, deals random damage to your side of the field.
- Many of the cards in the Headless Horseman's deck are able to deal AoE damage to you - gross!
- After defeating the Headless Horseman, he removes his head (Headless Horseman's Head), a 2/35 minion.
- His head deals 2 damage randomly split to your side of the field at the start of each of his turns.
- Destroying the head, as indicated on the card text, wins you the game.

Discuss This Week's Brawl
Head on over to our dedicated discussion thread over on our Tavern Brawl forum.
Golden Hogger = free 1600 to expand my wild collection.
I'm really pleased with the challenge (and the restart button) on this one! Just to be really greedy, I'd love to get a pack for beating it with each class.
They probably made it very hard on purpose, so they could tell upper management "Look, people played an average of 10 matches this brawl! Raise plz?"
My board is just completely cleared each turn now matter what I play. Very garbage brawl which seems to be repeated by the majority of the comments.
I need to go post in the salt thread. this brawl needs a pity counter. free pack after 5 concedes
I did it on 3 accts, trying all the costumes 2-3 times. It's ridiculously hard on the pirate because your minions are low health and attack and can't clear the final boss minion. The cat one is ok if you get infest, which may give you some higher attack minions or even a poisonous one to deal with the boss. The easiest by far imo is the witch one. Spread wide with double feral spirits and hope you get ramp and white eyes, iron bark, or bog creeper to finish off the boss. And hope he does clear your early minions with destroy all minions with 4 attack or less. And hope he doesn't have shadow word death for you biggies. So, basically a lot of rng.
Witch seems to have the most promise. I have gotten to the head with Pirate every time but run out of cards and health when the head comes out. Unfortunately completing this with the Witch is dependent on his removal. I just had him play Hellfire and Felfire Potion to remove my 8/8 the turn after PW:Death...literally 4 consecutive turns of consistent removal.
Never go full removal.
Try with "cat" costume!
I want those cards so badly.
too easy , just play with the witch .
Restart option is best part of this brawl's design
Won with Pirates first try. Stayed ahead on board, had two Ships Cannons out at once in the midgame, built a big weapon, took the head down in 3 turns (at which point my deck was empty). Finished with 6 health.
Thistle Tea into 3x Eviscerate draws helped me keep non-head minions in check.
witches?
I commented that this was a good brawl and I got downvoted to hell... this community is killing me sometimes
how to win this **it :SwiftRage:
After losing with pirate and kittys I found that the shaman (witch) deck works pretty well.
blizzard why is this hard, blizzard staph
Nope
Blizzard is on a roll with these great brawls
Gotta be my least favorite brawl to date. Lot's of getting wrecked by a cheap deck with decks I hate playing. Just give me the pack already. Gotta love that card "Fear", maybe let a random 12 year old off the street design the next tavern brawl?
AI has like 8 board clears and a few removal cards...The entire Monster Hunt was easier than this brawl.
