Pick a Hand, Any Hand Is This Week's Tavern Brawl
Pick the first seven cards of your deck, and we'll fill the rest with Unstable Portals. You get your portals AFTER your mulligan.
Trivia
- This is the second time we've seen this Tavern Brawl.
- This brawl made its debut on June 27, 2016.
How it Works
- You'll build a deck of seven cards.
- When you get into the game, you'll draw a hand of cards as normal from your chosen pool of 7 cards.
- You have a chance to mulligan cards you don't want, getting replacements.
- Once the mulligan phase is complete, your deck gains 23 Unstable Portal.
Historically Awesome Decks
These were the top three decks the last time this brawl was around. They are very likely outclassed today, so just admire them!

Discuss This Week's Brawl
Head on over to our Brawl Forums to discuss this week's brawl in the dedicated forum thread.
That old mage deck is still wrecking havoc. I played 5 games with it and only lost to a Secret Hunter, and I think I missplayed a lot.
I won with Priest and Radiant Elemental's
Capped the daily win gold 2 days in a row now within an hour. Barnes, Y'shraaj, 2 counterfeit coin, 2 gang up, sap. Hand not good? Concede at mull, barely losing any time. Turn 1-3 14/15 that summons one or 2 10/10 next turn, nothing beats that (sap is for mirror if both players get lucky).
Seriously, I put an Ooze in my deck and have yet to face a rogue. Are people just not running rogue anymore? I played 20 games on 2 different accounts even with nary a rogue in sight. Has anyone here destroyed a rogue weapon with an ooze that you included (not from a portal)?
Nice Mage/Priest-only brawl. It seems everyone and their mom is using the same old Mana Wyrm/Sorcerer's Apprentice/Flamewaker or Radiant Elemental + X lists. I had to play like 10 matches before I met an opponent who a) wasn't playing one of the aforementioned classes and b) didn't try to SMOrc me as fast as possible.
I really wish they locked some of the cards this week. Some of them have crazy amounts of synergy with Unstable Portal.
Genzo, the Shark
indeed only 1 turn games :)
The high-roll is better with rogue: counterfit coins, gang up.
First game:
Counterfeit Coin, Counterfeit Coin, The Coin, Preparation, Unstable Portal, Edwin VanCleef, aaaand... 0 mana Void Terror
People use to complain about Barnes pulling Y'Shaarj, Rage Unbound turn 3 but now you can do it turn 1
5-0 with your deck so far. Thank you!
I'm glad you enjoyed it.
You did even better than I did in my 5 first games. Congratz
Wow! Easy wins + Fun to play. I like this brawl.
Decided to share my deck that is lapping up wins.
After looking at the recommendation, I'd say the Antonidas or DK could be traded out for Loatheb. Then again, this seems to win too fast to need any of them.
Lol hilarious brawl for me, playing Warlock am getting rekt by flamewaker very low on health, got 2 Prince Valanar in a row, a Deranged Doctor to trade perfectly into opponent's giant and taunt after taunt from the portals. And to top it all off got Stargazer Luna to combo with the portals. Insanely lucky.
I played the heal lock, with 2 kobold librarians, 2 voodoo doctors, 2 happy ghouls and 1 power overwhelming. I went second and found the 2 ghouls and both librarians. I took my chances and mulliganed for one doctor only to find the spell and end up with 2 dead cards in hand. On turn 2 I played the portal and found a 2 mana bloodworm for the turn-4-victory!
Two words: Spectral Cutlass!!
Tweaked the deck here and there and the two I had most success with were as follows:
Deadly Poison x 2
Cavern Shinyfinder x 1
Spectral Cutlass x 1
Academic Espionage x 1
Tinker's Sharpsword Oil x 1
Myra's Unstable Element
With this deck, your goal is to have the sword and ideally one or two weapon buffs, equip sword on turn 4, cast Myra's on turn 5 to empty the deck, cast Academic Espionage to fill your deck with 1-cost cards on turn 6 so you have pretty amazing tempo for the rest of the game. You'll usually burn your opponents low enough for them to concede early.
Deadly Poison x 2
Cavern Shinyfinder x 1
Spectral Cutlass x 1
Academic Espionage x 1
Tinker's Sharpsword Oil x 1
Sprint x 1
Similar strategy to the above, but you don't burn your deck. You just use sprint to refill hand for tempo.
If you are unfortunate enough to not draw any weapon buffs, all is not lost. You may get weapon buffs from portals, and an infinite 2 dmg weapon with lifesteal still isn't bad. If you have such bad RNG that you draw neither shinyfinder nor cutlass, concede.
Three words Acidic Swamp Ooze. With so many rogues, don't leave home without it.
Had crazy success with Spectral Cutlass along with weapon buffing spells, at least crazy success until one of my opponents ass-pulled an ooze from one of their portals.
