Vote For Your Favourite Community Created Cards That Went To Eleven
It's time once again to vote for a winner in a card design competition. This week, we required you to design a card which cost 11 or more mana.
Competition-Specific Restrictions:
- You must make a card that costs 11 or more mana.
- Your card must be able to be played/equipped/summoned/cast without external cost reduction effects; that means you cannot rely on the likes of Preparation, Aviana, Ebon Dragonsmith, etc. to combo your card with.
- All current examples are Giants, including Snowfury Giant, Clockwork Giant, and Molten Giant. That being said your card doesn't have to function like a Giant if you don't want it to.
This Week's Finalists
Out of 90 entries, we've narrowed it down to 12 of the community's favourites. Check out the finalists below and then head on over to the final poll to vote, vote, vote! Tokens, as usual, can be viewed in the voting thread.

Yeah, we know. Magic the Gathering once did the same. Scornful Egotist was printed to have synergy with Torrent of Fire, costing (4) to get a body with cost (8).
I forgot to post this card that i imagined. Sad reactions only ;-;
The name should be Beach Colosso because he likes the coast !
Why not include tokens in this post? You are making my internet hurt from going from this post to the voting thread.
Does Light's Judgement kill minions by writting their names in a certain notebook?
Oh god no!
Light's Judgement is my favorite. It seems strong but not OP, works as both an AoE and an expensive single target execution..and most importantly, it slows down the meta. If you're tired of everyone playing aggro decks while you're trying to play a control deck, this card should be your vote.
Agent-Hopper at 15 instead of 11 would be way more balanced. Love the idea of Rogue getting a semi-giant type minion.
And yessss bring back more stealth!!!!
Thanks, agree that I should increased the mana cost, but too late for me this time! Time to work out my balancing for the next competition. :)
11 would have been perfect before AE. xD
Got excited about submitting! Forgot about that card! too OP haha XD
I think Timeless Giant is a great idea, but it could be better worded, something like "Costs (1) less for each unused Mana Crystal during your previous turn."
I actually messaged the creator regarding this. He replied, and I quote: "If i made the "Costs (1) less for each unused mana from your previous turn". Then the card would be completely different, as it would affect potentially affect more than one giant, which imo ruins the flavor of using the Mana you didn't spend last turn."
That's not a viable reason IMO, since ALL giants have reduced cost even if you have more than one in your hand, but, well... There you have it.
I had a similar exchange. However I suggested the cost should be reduced but (1) for each unspent mana period. The way it is now is rediculoisly weak. Even with your suggestion you would need to skip turn 10 to get at best two (1) mana 8/8’s. The way he has it the card is literally an 11 mana 8/8 that you can start paying for a turn early (but not use). It should at least have rush.
Are we playing a different game, where two 8/8 for 2 mana is bad?
Not all giants are as good as mountain or sea ones, and even those are only played is super-specific decks. I can totally see big spell mage skip turn 5 to drop a huge threat that's hard to deal with on turn 6 against any deck that doesn't force you to Blizzard or Meteor instead because it's aggressive to a fault.
We are not playing a different game, two 8/8's for 2 mana was best case. It is a fairly good case as well, especially if paired with something like psychic scream, vanish or twisting nether. However, the second case (skipping turn 5 for a 6 mana 8/8 is far less good. Most reasonable expectation might be skip turn 7 get two 4 mana 8/8's.
Regardless my point was that it is stupidly bad as is, and your fix puts it on the weak side of playable. My idea may make it too good, however there should be a balance in their somewhere. I mean if you skip turns 1,2 and 3 with my method, the giants are still 5 mana on turn 4. Though you could play giant + giant + sunfury for 4 mana on turn 5. Not sure if that would be good enough to save you at that point.
Haha turn two prep academic espionage, then a 7/7 with stealth. GG
Or turn one with coin
Well, those contests are never about Balance.
P.S. A turn 1 10/10 Edwin VanCleef was played in HCT back when Counterfeit Coin was arndard. That game ended in a loss. Turns out, having 0 cards and a 10/10 on the board at the beginning of the game is not an auto win.
Technicaly speaking, the Animated Statue does not reduce it's cost. Over all it's a good card for Warriors, Druids, and Sometimes Mages.
And hunters running Leatherworking :)
