Is it me or has Value Town really lost its way in the last few months. I couldn't even get through last weeks episode, it just seemed to wander aimlessly from one half-hearted rant to another. Listening to this week's at the moment, but it hasn't started well and I am hovering over the unsubscribe button right now.
It's basically 2 dudes that arent innately interesting talking about interesting things. Just seems like other than a few talking points on a napkin, but no real deeply insightful considerations. I'm not hating on them, I just dont feel like they come to the table with insightful talking points, just feels like 2 guys that are really good at Hearthstone talking at Wendy's about it over some value meal items. They definitely have the ability to make it more. And yes, I've watched the videos.
Pretty much what you guys said.
Something that got my attention was when Chanman talks about possible future nerfs midseason but strangely, no talk about what cards need to be nerfed.
My Mecha'Thun mage is busted. Definitely tier 1 or 2. Don't trust rankings
China's meta resumes to get to Legend and then troll with Quest Priest
Hey fam, got your synopsis here...
0:00:25 Covering that they dont have a guest this week but Chanman is happy that Gaara's camera is so clear that they dont need a guest. Not sure what was happening with this comment but it made Chanman laugh. Vehement denial that guests were demanding to be paid hourly to come on.
0:01:55 Chanman puts Gaara on the spot, asking where he finished last season. Gaara comments it wasnt well, needing sleep, and something about having to help his mom highlight her hair. Chanman comments on finishing top 20 or its not worth playing. Assumption is he means rank 20.
0:04:05 Gaara makes a list of everything that Shudderwock shaman can beat. This goes on for some time, and in great detail. Somewhere between Undertaker Hunter decks, the 8th circuit court, mods on Reddit, and Pot of Greed Chanman asks Gaara if he's ever done auto-reverse on underwear when he runs out of clean ones.
0:04:51 Gaara steps away from the camera. He comes back in and answers 'yes'.
0:07:44 Gaara's mom comes in. She's ticked off. Like really ticked off. They talk in some foreign language, but it's clear she has a southern accent. The words 'Doritos', 'fish chocolate', and 'beef balloon' seem to come up between them often during the yelling.
0:05:01 Gaara calls his mother a 'smorc'. She points to the camera, says 'PLACID DUCK SMASH' and swings something. Gaara's camera goes out.
0:15:04 Chanman discusses aggro in the current meta intelligently, while you hear muffled screams from Gaara's feed.
0:34:48 Gaara comes back to the feed in different clothing. He expresses his thoughts on aggro decks. Chanman immediately agrees, contradicting the last 15 minutes of discussion.
0:45:38 Gaara's mom comes into Chanman's feed. She says sternly in Somali, "oog dooga mooga boog as roog". Chanman's feed goes out as he says, "Mrs. Gaara, I've dont smorc my carpet ulcers"
0:55:09 Gaara puts together some of the most insightful comments about the EU playoffs, and the new meta shift making counters to decks more extreme, and midrange decks suffering because of it.
0:56:21 Gaara's mom comes back on the feed. Chanman is now in Gaara's feed.
0:59:37 Chanman and Gaara discuss how to kill players playing aggro decks. No joke.
1:11:40 Discussion about online betting on video games, and crypto currencies.
1:28:14 Gaara's mom shuts off Chanman's feed.
1:29:22 Gaara and Chanman look pensively at each other, type something on the computer and slowly move out of frame.
1:07 - 1:10 Chansan did notice your hard work sempai
For lack of a plausible summary, I'll go ahead and assume this is completely accurate.
He didnt seem pleased though...
Its related to the fact Gaara confesses he plays quest rogue. There was a certain "stench" in the air. The fart from earlier clearly developed into something else through this week.
"Aggro for the win"
I won't watch it.
Smorc his face!
