Most Badass Card Art for Each Class in The Boomsday Project
Time for another roundup of the most badass card art for each class (and neutral) in the latest expansion. Except, what’s that? This time there are mechs and EXPLOSIONS?! With an expansion like The Boomsday Project you can bet your bottom dollar there’s gonna be some badass card art. Bomb’s away!
Druid - Landscaping
Artist: Sam Hogg
Flavor Text: We'll put a happy tree right here...and give him a little friend.
Look, I know the Bob Ross flavor text probably doesn’t help my case here. But this Iron Giant lookalike is the most badass gardener I’ve ever seen. If you trample his plants, he tramples you.
Hunter - Flark's Boom-Zooka
Artist: Jim Nelson
Flavor Text: It used to be a Ba-zooka but we ran out of sheep.
That expression! The narrowed eyes, the snarled lips. This thing is on a mission to strike fear into the hearts of its enemies. And it’s working.
Mage - Cosmic Anomaly
Artist: Konstantin Turovec
Flavor Text: INGREDIENTS: STAR-STUFF, BLUE #1, NATURAL AND ARTIFICIAL FLAVORS.
I pity the fool who rubs this guy's lamp. Most intimidating genie ever.
Paladin - Autodefense Matrix
Artist: Zero
Flavor Text: We call it the bubble machine.
It’s hard to decide what’s more badass about this art, the enormous mech or the dwarf with a crystal that creates a forcefield. Are forcefields ever not badass?
Priest - Zerek, Master Cloner
Artist: James Ryman
Flavor Text: His original name was Aerek. Then the first clone was Berek. They went evil around Merek.
Amazing flavor text on this one. And what’s with the tubes? Do we even want to know what’s under the mask? I'm not sure anyone who tried to find out would fair too well.
Rogue - Crazed Chemist
Artist: Max Greck
Flavor Text: You don't have to be crazy to work here, but it helps.
Crazed look in her eyes and dripping potion aside, this chemist looks like she could handle herself in a tavern brawl. I don’t mean the in-game kind, either.
Shaman - Electra Stormsurge
Artist: L. Lullabi & K. Turovec
Flavor Text: "The coin? You used me for THE COIN!?"
I mean, damn, where do you even start here? She’s a heavily armored mech/tornado surrounded by lightning. Sweet shoulder pads too.
Warlock - Soul Infusion
Artist: Garrett Hanna
Flavor Text: People called him a soulless monster. We're not sure this is better.
Hopefully that suit wasn’t a rental. He's probably not going to get his deposit back.
Warrior - Dr. Boom, Mad Genius
Artist: Matt Dixon
Flavor Text: "Of course I've gone mad with power. Ever try going mad without it?"
I mean, really. Was there ever going to be another choice for most badass warrior card? No, no there wasn’t.
Neutral - Subject 9
Artist: Dany Orizio
Flavor Text: The original clever girl.
Not only is the card art downright amazing (and slightly terrifying) but a Jurassic Park reference to boot?
That’s our roundup of the most badass card art from The Boomsday Project. Did we miss a particularly badass piece of art? Do you have a favorite card from this expansion that maybe isn’t quite that badass but is still awesome? Let us know in the comments!
@jlmack13 when you wrote "would fair too well" I think you meant "would fare too well".
Funny how Crazed Chemist and Soul Infusion made it to the ''Most Badass Art'' list, as from my standing point, they're both part of my top 3 of worst art this expansion ; Omega Medic being the last on that list ..!
Art, and its appreciation, are really subjective ^^
Electra Stormsurge easily. Not only the art, the entrance animation and the music, ALL BADASS.
For some reason I love all the art on the cards related to Elementals. Same for Earthen Might, best art for Witchwood and not of all expansions because I FUCKIN LOVE Ragnaros the Firelord.
My favorite and maybe my favorite from the whole game is Harbinger Celestia, it's a shame the card is trash.
I have been experimenting with it some, and it's just too situational, especially in a meta where every deck tends to combine small mechs into a big one.
which meta is this? x)
For the most badass cards?
I'd agree with Druid as Landscaping with the giant mech doing gardening is both cute and awesome. I wouldn't mess with those baby Groots. Same on Hunter. I just wish that Flark's Boom-Zooka was a bit of a better card. Seems like such a waste of great art. Zerek, Master Cloner is indeed Priest's winner. But, as others have said, that's not a mask. Ethereals wear bandages over their internal nexuses of energy that make them up. No arguments on Shaman either as Electra Stormsurge should be the winner. And nobody in or out of their right mind should disagree with Dr. Boom, Mad Genius. Unless they want to be blown up.
On Mage, I'd rather give it to Astromancer. Girl looks like she's about to start something, and gods know that that card can! I'd call Paladin a toss-up. Kangor's Endless Army doesn't look like anything that I want to be facing down in a fight. On Rogue, Myra Rotspring looks way more badass. Crazed Chemist looks somewhere between huffing glue and drinking whatever Myra gave her. On Warlock, maybe I'm weird, but I thought that Ectomancy's art looked really sweet, and kinda scary. On neutrals, I'd actually give it to Brainstormer. Would you want to be on the wrong side of that? I wouldn't.
Brainstormer looks absolutely awful
Soul infusion doesn't deserve the list, every other class is good choice
Druid- Landscaping is a good pick, but Juicy Psychmelon looks better
Hunter- I would choose Spider Bomb or Venomizer personally, two of the coolest looking Magnetic minions (which all look great already)
Mage- Celestial Emissary > Cosmic Anomaly
Paladin- I agree with Autodefence Matrix, Paladin has some great looking cards to choose from
Priest- I agree with Zerek, followed closely by Extra Arms. He's technically not wearing a mask fyi, he's an ethereal
Rogue- Not a fan of this choice. I much prefer Myra's look as a chemist, and Blightnozzle Crawler overall
Shaman- Fair choice, Shaman has great art in all it's elemental cards
Warlock- Much prefer Nethersoul Buster and The Soularium
Warrior- All this class' cards looks amazing, but I have to give it to Supercollider. Reminds me of the Gravity Hammer from Halo
Neutral- Subject 9 looks really bad imo, at the very least it's disappointing art for a cybernetic raptor. All other raptors in the game look better than this. My personal choice is Piloted Reaper although there are other very good ones
That is your subjective opinion. I personally don't like Soul Infusion but I can see why some people find it good looking.
I don't understand this sentiment. It's a bland ghost woman with sparkles. Get over it.
Poor treants, getting sprayed by gloop (from Gloop Sprayer? Maybe it's Floop's Glorious Gloop) They're just children!
Also, maybe it's just me, but Soul Infusion isn't anything special to me. More ugly than badass, really.
Goblin Prank
Good choices. Why no giggles?
"Badass art"
"Giggling Inventor"
Does not compute
My favorite art is Harbinger Celestia
If we talk purely about art part only, Harbinger Celestia should get at least the honorable mention in Neutral cards. I mean just look at this blyatiful art:
Great art. Literally the worst legendary in the set.
