Quote from DaxxarriJoin Hearthstone Mission Designer Giovanni Scarpati and Lead UI Designer Max Ma as they take you on a tour of Boom Labs’ most enigmatic facilities: The Puzzle Lab!
In The Puzzle Labs, you’re tasked with helping Boom Labs head scientists and their assistants overcome challenging obstacles to their research! Each lab represents one of four different puzzle types: Lethal, Mirror, Board Clear, or Survival. Each lab starts with a simple challenge—a “Puzzles 101” to familiarize you with the experimental procedures—but they ramp way up in difficulty from there! You can do The Puzzle Labs in any order, so if you get stuck, you can shake things up and put in some work at a different Lab for a while.
Complete every last puzzle in the place, and you’ll earn one heck of a diploma: The Boomlabs! card back will be added to your collection!
Don’t forget! If you haven’t claimed them already, you can still log in to get a free Legendary minion (or Hero card) and three card packs—both from the new expansion—FREE! Join us starting August 21 to experience The Puzzle Labs, and get three more The Boomsday Project card packs when you log in. These free card packs and Legendary card are only available for a limited time—so act fast!—but The Puzzle Lab is here to stay.
Really looking forward to the puzzles they got in store for us, and of course 3 more free packs
It seems like a cool puzzle and I will end it for sure, but I need adventures where I can use my own collection!
I have 30k dust, but no reason for me to spend it. I do not enjoy PvP modes so I do not play them, I do play only PvE, but can't use my own cards...
+1. like in TES L, i want doing my pve arenas with smaller reward or like +|- 0 when i m spending my time in there. I hate pvp shit in constructed and rng fiesta in arena, i love HS pve, but i can't play it, coz only repeating old Adv. or dungeon runs, dungeon runs are ok, but, i want golden cards here and cards from new exps. But, ofc, who cares about pve players in pvp game.
That cardback looks so nice.
You know no matter what with any gaming community, its NEVER enough for them . EVER
SIDE NOTE: PUZZLE QUEST LOOKS AWESOME and i like how it challenges you to figure it and you can pick any stage.
also i feel like they took notes from the puzzle solving bits from Eternal just an observation.
why they dont release it on expansion launch date ????
Because at knc launch, people played too much dungeon run and so people had issues finding matches in ranked, causing them to complain about spending money on cards they couldnt use immediately. Still should only be like a week delay though instead of 3.
That's how they maintain the hype for a little bit longer.
I get the impression by what was shown (watch the part about why they just load new puzzles without dropping back to a loading screen), that they provide a deck and it has specific cards at specific times.
Well then they miss out on the fun :D
I'm super excited about the new mode but why blizzard always put out the new content on the middle of the week?, some people can't play during the week, so i'd be great if they released all the new content on weekends
The most important reason for midweek releases is probably not having to work on weekends if (/when) they need to hotfix the new content right after release.
I really love this ideea, but can they give us some GOOD rewards? Like gold/dust/card packs? I'm really not satisfied with a cardback...
"You'll earn three card packs for logging in next week."
I said REWARDS, like for completing the lab, not for logging, which isn't even a reward for the lab itself. The only thing you get from the lab is the "fun" and the cardback.
Don’t open your packs until you complete the puzzle lab.
why
Yes, how dare they give us something fun that is also free. Stupid bliz
Putting a reward that's tangible means the population will feel like they HAVE to complete it or they are missing out, and will get pissed. This is why the original Adventures were made so easy: making them hard means the players who can't complete it will be discouraged by missing the reward.
Also folks who don't give a darn about the first player content will feel 'forced' to play it for the same reason. Even if the reward is small, similar to how something that is Free is treated fundamentally different from an item that asks for even a nickle.
Chances are, the negative feeling caused by both will overwhelm the positive feeling you'll have over getting, say, 2 packs for completing half of the puzzles.
Design decisions must take into account human mentality.
You know how many decks they gave us when Witchwood launched? 3, and with the quests another 4, so 7 in total and there was also a 20 free card packs event. Now they are giving us only 6. You see the problem?
The meta is so boring right now with the same archtypes as before this expansion with only a few cards from this new one, and if you can play more than 10 ranked games per day without getting bored I congratz you. We literally now have to wait untill the rotations to see something new and refreshing and that's sad.
Yeah, it's a f2p game, so what? That means I have to accept every "bone" they throw me? People are accepting less and less and that's doesn't seem good.
Also, if they would give rewards for completing the lab, I would have more interest in it, but right now I can try a few levels and then forget about it. Ladder is already making everybody pissed because of the stupid meta, so how can you get pissed with an adventure where you play vs the computer and get rewards? HOW? It's their job to find balance and think about solutions on how to make this lab a bit hard, but not that hard to wanna kill myself.
And don't talk about human mentality because blizzard doesn't give a damn about their players, they give us an expansion every season because they have to or their game dies, not because they want to give. It's all about marketing not feelings bro, they want more and give less.
