Quote from DaxxarriJoin Hearthstone Mission Designer Giovanni Scarpati and Lead UI Designer Max Ma as they take you on a tour of Boom Labs’ most enigmatic facilities: The Puzzle Lab!
In The Puzzle Labs, you’re tasked with helping Boom Labs head scientists and their assistants overcome challenging obstacles to their research! Each lab represents one of four different puzzle types: Lethal, Mirror, Board Clear, or Survival. Each lab starts with a simple challenge—a “Puzzles 101” to familiarize you with the experimental procedures—but they ramp way up in difficulty from there! You can do The Puzzle Labs in any order, so if you get stuck, you can shake things up and put in some work at a different Lab for a while.
Complete every last puzzle in the place, and you’ll earn one heck of a diploma: The Boomlabs! card back will be added to your collection!
Don’t forget! If you haven’t claimed them already, you can still log in to get a free Legendary minion (or Hero card) and three card packs—both from the new expansion—FREE! Join us starting August 21 to experience The Puzzle Labs, and get three more The Boomsday Project card packs when you log in. These free card packs and Legendary card are only available for a limited time—so act fast!—but The Puzzle Lab is here to stay.
I love the idea for this, but it's gonna suck because literally like 4 hours after the launch of it all the puzzles are already going to be online with all the answers. Don't get me wrong, I like a good puzzle, but in this thing just isn't going be amazing unless you stick to your own guts and don't use a guide.
That being said, I really like the whole idea and theme of being a lab assistant and trying to find the "solution" or testing hypotheses of the bosses. It overall just looks really polished and hopefully it'll be pretty challenging too.
That's really up to individuals I guess. Its like having a puzzle book with the answers at the back. You can go to the back and just copy answers if that's what does it for you but to most folk (i hope) it's a pointless exercise.
Yeah that would be hysterical. The issue for me I guess is that they are offering the cardback and I like to use the adventure cardbacks (always use the one from the last adventure) but this one just doesn't feel like it's as rewarding as the rest of them. For this one, it can either mean I did puzzles or I just got bored, wanted the card back, and then looked up the answers online. It just lacks the sense of pride the other heroic and dungeon run/witchwood cardbacks have.
Great idea, and this definitely looks a lot better than Monster Hunt. Just one problem: The reward
A cardback? Seriously? All that hard work just for a cardback? The big rewards for Dungeon Run and Monster Hunt were just a cardback. Why couldn’t Mecha-Jaraxxus have been the big prize? Hell, Mecha-Jaraxxus’s description even hinted that he would’ve been the big prize.
I guess it's still going to be a cardback for consistency? All the solo adventures so far have offered some special cardback except KFT and they didn't want to deal with the backlash of making an 80 dollar bundle limited skin into a skin that you can literally get for no cost at all except your time so they just kept it to a cardback.
Well they included Mecha-Jaraxxus in the pre-order bundle so people had to buy it in order to get him. It wouldn't be fair for those that paid the pre-order bundle just for the skin. I agree they should give more than a cardback for reward. Maybe the best solution would be a pack per Lab.
It was the big prize, but with a c.
People said the exact same thing about dungeon run. "Why would we ever wanna do dungeon run just for a card back in the end?"
Well turns out if something is fun to do, people will play it anyways.
You just can't stop crying about Mecha-Jaraxxus eh?
Free dust, an ok card back and what looks to be some interesting solo content, nice.
They merged donjon run with adventure syle of content. I hope this ain't gonna be too easy. Hagatha was fun to fight but less challenging than the rest of the monster hunt.
I expected to get some info about the Days of the Frozen Throne quests too :(
What would the Un'goro story thingy even be? Would it just be a Safari with Hemet where you just kill all the wildlife or? Curious about what you'd think it would be.
and what will we get when we complete puzzles ? Just a card back ? There must be a pack reward i think.(except login rewards)
KoFT rewards were fine. Get a pack for each floor , finally a new hero. Is it really worth to complete all of those labs for just a card back ?
Yea exactly what i was thinking ... it feels so much better rewarding packs for its floor instead of just a cardback in the end .. I don't really care about cardback. But i would surely try to complete every floor so i can get the packs.
I really enjoyed the puzzle mode in Magic the Gathering: Planeswalkers so this mode is the real reward for me. I've been waiting for this mode ever since I started playing Hearthstone.
Oh god there are going to be so many "tutorials" on youtube on how to beat the most basic levels....
This looks awesome! Can't wait for it to come out.
120 free dust is always good
I'm loving Max Ma. That guy needs to do more of these videos.
