The Boomsday Project Card Reveal Bingo
Bingo returns for The Boomsday Project! As usual, we'll have main page updates, all the new cards in our deckbuilder for theorycrafting, updates on our Twitter and Facebook accounts, and of course, polls to give your initial insights into the new cards through the next couple of weeks.
Updates here will be made once a day. We're assuming Ben Brode is still laughing somewhere, so he remains our free square.
Current Card
This is where we'll have the card with the crossed off spaces.
Bingo Defined
- Bad Card With Great Reviews - This is a card which is rated by the community as being our lord and savior but ends up being super trash.
- Snowball 3-Drop - A crazy card with 3 mana which pushes the game forward quickly through the snowball effect.
- Mech Mage - Any Mage-only card with the Mech tag.
- Druid Armor - A card that gives druids armor... again. I thought this was Warrior flavor =/
- Super Cutie - It's so adorable! Any card with super cute art. There's at least one in every set!
- Warlock Self Damage - This card kills the Warlock.
- Warrior Totally Enrage - A Warrior card with an Enrage effect. Still enrage in our hearts, Blizzard!
- Boom Bots - A card that summons Boom Bots. Now that's balance!
- Pack Filler - A card so bad that it's only included because "not every card needs to be playable"
- Flagship RNG - This card is played because even with the randomness, it's just so good. Sup Yogg.
- Dank Memes - This description has been withheld.
- Rogues Be Burgling - A Rogue card which adds cards to your hand from the opponent's class.
- HAHAHAHHAHA - Free. Ben Brode occupies this space as our Bingo Spirit Animal.
- Hunter Spelling Bee - Any Hunter card which helps push the Spell Hunter archetype forward.
- Power Creep - A card which has upgraded stats over another one in the game for the same cost, usually making the old one irrelevant. If this is a class card, it must creep over another card of the same class.
- Paladins Have Secrets - A Secret card for Paladins. Did you know Paladins have the least amount of Secrets in both Standard and Wild out of the core secret classes?
- New Giant - A new card with "Giant" in the name and has 8/8 stats. Cost will vary.
- Unexpected Priest Effect - Think Chameleos.
- Hard to Execute Legendary - A Legendary card that requires going through hoops to get it out. Hello The Darkness my old friend...
- Shaman Mrglrlgl - Any card with the Murloc race/tribe that is given to Shamans.
- Annoy-o-Trio - A new Annoy-o-Tron! Must have Taunt, Divine Shield, and be a Mech. This also probably ticks the Power Creep box.
- Mechanical Dragon - A card with the Dragon race/tribe and has the art of a mechanical.
- Legendary Buildaround - Your entire deck is built around this card. Maybe it requires a deck of singletons or building with only odd-cost cards.
- Shredder - A cousin of Piloted Shredder. This card should be a Mech which on death summons a random minion. Shredder should be in the name for full credit.
- Rager - A card which depicts an elemental being, likely has awful stats, and has Rager in its name.

😂 lol
Silverback Patriarch power creep has happened in almost every expansion.
There needs to be a bingo for silverback.
😂 lol
Where's the "new obviously insane card that so-called pro players mark as awful"?
This one = Flobbidinous Floop ?
What's the "New Giant" card? :O
Timebound giant
Aaaah it was the arena exclusive content!
Mulch Muncher is the only Giant we need.
Upgradeable Framebot powercreeps Am'gam Rager
That's technically not power creep, as this video explains.
That's the most powercreeped powercreep I have seen in my life
No this isn't power creep.
Yes, Upgradeable Framebot is strictly better than Am'gam Rager, but Am'gam Rager is so far below the power curve anyway, that it doesn't really matter.
Power creep would occur when a really good card is released, like Piloted Shredder for example, and Blizzard subsequently releases even more powerful 4-drops in later expansions to make those competitive to not let Piloted Shredder be the defining 4-drop for all time (this is somewhat curved by the rotation of the standard format, but you get the point I hope). That would cause a chain reaction to make all other cards increasingly better, because now standard 4-drops would be becoming more powerful than 5-drops, so Blizzard would end up releasing even better 5-drops, etc.
Watch the video I linked for the full (and better) explanation.
TL;DR: power creep is the raising of the power curve by releasing increasingly more powerful cards to combat other powerful cards that are already released. It is not releasing a card that is a slight upgrade to a severely underpowered card.
I think you misunderstood that video yourself. It's not about the lower card being under the power curve but the new one being above it. (if we go solely by that video's definition)
So far, Framebot is looking to be very powerful in this future meta and has a LOT of other cards that will synergise with it which will make it substantially stronger than other cards that already exist. (exactly as the video describes)
In the end we'll have to wait for the expansion to release and actually see if it'll see play. If it does, it's clearly a power creep. And so far, it looks like it will.
The category clearly means Power Creep as in the power creep meme, not actual power creep. The category even has a picture of Ice Rager to emphasize that. Upgradeable Framebot is strictly better than Am'gam Rager.
Interesting points. I guess the question then is wether you can call a specific card an example of power creep when it only works by synergizing with other cards. If Framebot did end up seeing play, it would only be because of the mech tag, and only because of the synergies that would be released with this set. No one would play a vanilla 2 mana 1/5 I'm pretty sure.
So if the stats combined with the mech tag is the only thing that would make Framebot playable, can it really be compared to Rager, it not being a mech? And can it therefore really considered to be an example of power creep over the Rager?
Most of the upvoters for the commenter I first responded to would probably have also agreed that a 2 mana 1/5 that isn't a mech would be an example of power creep over the Rager, even though that would almost certainly see no play whatsoever, and therefore not follow the actual definition of power creep.
Bad cards with great reviews: This is a given for every expansion. Same goes for the opposite (which I'm wondering why it isn't on the board).
Warlock self damage: This was covered pretty sufficiently in Witchwood. I doubt they'll do it again here.
Dank memes: Yuck. But every expansion again.
Paladins have secrets: I think they'll focus more on Mechs and Magnetic for Paladins.
Annoy-o-Trio: No.
Snowball 3-drop: Perhaps every expansion aswell? I can't actually remember.
Warrior enrage: Dead.
Rogues be burgling: Maybe the expansion after this one.
New Giant: Mulchmuncher.
Mechanical Dragon: They'd be kinda stupid not to.
Mech Mage: No.
Boom Bots: Hopefully they'll steer toward something different. But in saying that, I expect maybe a Boom Bot to be printed as a lone card with "Magnetic. Deathrattle: Deal 1-4 damage to a random enemy minion."
Unexpected Priest effect: Yep, give me another crappy legendary to get in golden. Thanks for nothing, Chameleos.
Legendary build-around: This is guarantee every expansion aswell.
Druid Armour: They'll sway away from that this time.
Pack filler: Obviously.
Hunter spelling bee: I'm assuming you just mean a reasonably tough addition to Spell Hunter? I don't even know.
Hard to execute legendary: Deep down I think this is a given for every expansion aswell. Even if it's only somewhat hard.
Shredder: I was originally going to say no, but with how many Goblins there will be, there must be one that has this idea.
Super cutie: Does Myra count? 😂
Flagship RNG: A given for every expansion aswell. But I don't think it will be in the form of this supposed Mech'Thun.
Power creep: Every expansion.
Shaman mrglrgl: Not this time. Although I'd truly love to see a mechanical Murloc for
entertainmentscientific purposes.Rager: With the amount of Elementals incoming, one of them must be a Rager... right?
Legendary buildaround ans powercreep has been revealed already (Whizbang, and upgradeable framebot, at least compared to am'gam rager)
I don't think Whizbang counts as buildaround. Build around is where you design a deck to make a card work. Whizbang just replaces your deck with a random deck recipe.
Which card has the art in "New Giant"?
