Don't give DisguisedToast any more ideas.
I know it's a 5-mana 4/4 that can draw a lot of cards--clearly a very powerful effect--but secrets aren't often cards you want to have in your deck. There's clearly stuff in wild like Emperor Thaurissan and Auctionmaster Beardo to activate Paladin DK hero powers for an OTK, but I'm hesitant about this in, say, a Midrange Secret Hunter. I don't want to play a 4/4 on turn 5, I want to play Greater Emerald Spellstone. This raptor is weak tempo but high value. But secrets aren't really synonymous with value, and the ones folks tend to play right now are at their best when they're gaining tempo (Freezing Trap to bounce a minion, Counterspell to protect a board, etc). It just seems like a bit of a contradiction to me.
The spellpower on Azure Drake was pretty important (5/2 Swipe, Backstab for 3, etc etc), and Azure Drake tended to draw cards you actually want to draw. I'm not necessarily convinced. I'm not saying it's bad. Again, this has potential to be very powerful. I guess I'm saying I'll believe it when I see it.
This is a must in any Tier 1 Warrior deck.
I disagree with this... Azure Drake was good in a much weaker constructed format, and is really best suited for a control deck that wants flexibility and card replacement. That would make something that is "like Azure Drake" not very good for a midrange or aggro deck. The beast tag is actually anti-synergy, because you can't play this with Kathrena, precluding it from current big recruit hunter.
This might see play if Emerald spellstone becomes consistent enough to be broken, but it's already pretty strong as a package in other hunter decks. Why would I want to cut my egg/deathrattle or beast/kathrena packages for this? Lastly, wandering monster is the only GOOD secret for hunter. Yes, explosive trap can be good vs. aggro, and a clever player can make good use of freezing trap in the right meta, but ultimately those secrets see play because people who run emerald spellstone need other secrets to play with wandering monster... and they're all about equally bad.
yes, they always speaking about limiting design place but noone considers hero powers. They should rework hero powers into selectable ones for classes. Like specializations on wow, for example shaman specializations as enhancement, restoration and elemental. 3 selectable hero powers for each specializations.
For some archetypes, it is impossible to build a deck with Shaman's, Paladin's, Rogue's, Hunter's almost all's hero power. Most problematic one is Shaman.
But this seems more a hunter card than Boommaster Flark
finally a good draw card for hunter.
Something I see some of you guy missing:
It says draw, not play or put in the battlefield like Msterious challenger. The secrets end in your hand
we are.....aware
Oh I get why they related this expansion with Doc. Boom.
Because they are literally making a lot of cards that will break the game.
It's nice to see that diversity that we had in the Un'goro, goes down the toilet, when if you don't play certain decks, you auto lose.
Since you cannot interact in any shape or form with your opponent
Blizzard, great way to develop your game, why don't you just print a cards that says, When you draw this you win the game, it's easier then making a Draw 5 specific cards Beast, or a discount 7 mana end of turn. No need to be subtle.
*Laughs in mysteriously challenging way*
What about the legendary hunter spell? Maybe its a secret?!
Super good card, i explained it in the thread for the card.
I would love to read your reasoning behind this.
Edit: Shaman, too.
Shaman always had weapons.
5 out of 9 is more reasonable than 3 out of 9.
This is basically 2 less legendaries for 6 classes (not counting rogue) with Whizbang the Wonderful, it is ok for f2p players but mostly injustice for 6 classes.
3 out of 9? You mean 4 out of 9. 5/9 and 4/9 are both reasonable.
Hunter, Paladin, Mage, Rogue.
You're also missing the fact that not every Neutral Legendary has to be designed to work for all classes. Cards like Fjola Lightbane, Eydis Darkbane, and The Voraxx weren't designed for classes with little to no buff cards like Mage, Warrior, Hunter or Warlock.
I enjoy playing Secrets, so I'm excited to mess around with this card. I also like it for the classes with cheaper secrets, since this can help pull them out of your deck and improve your late game draws. It performs a similar function to Call to Arms in that way.
The one problem that Hunter is going to have with using this is that it's a battlecry, so no using Kathrena Winterwisp, etc.
It's an Azure Drake... THAT TUTORS
and doesn't bring the Spell Damage +1 that's only a little important.
hahaha I cant help it but to read that with a Trump voice LUL
Because Exodia Paladin is looking to reduce the cost of the secrets and play them as Beardo activators to pull off the OTK
