I'm not so sure about this card. Won't see play (???)

Looks like another RNG card to trigger me

I don't really play mage decks so my knowledge on how they work is limited but imagine if you have achmage arugal and that new legendary minion on the field after playing that legendary spell, and you're top decking cards like blazecaller and meteorologist at 1 mana cost, and getting copies of them in your hand making for a bigger hand to synergize with this revealed card.

That sounds like some serious damage without having to cast pricey spells and also have board presence. I think this card could be fun with the right support.

At least this works in Even Mage, unlike Astromancer.

So does this scale with spell damage? Cause if it does, I think it might seal a kill or board clear if your winning.
A win more card and maybe even a finisher.

why would it when this is a minion card?

Stats are poorer than Goblin Blastmage but has a lot more burst potential. May see play if big-hand minion mage becomes a thing. With cards like Archmage Arugal and Book of Specters to support it, I think there's a chance this becomes a thing.

If Astromancer is good enough to build a Mage deck around card generating minions, this is probably good enough as well, though it also depends on the meta. A 3/3 dealing 7-9 damage is pretty strong against other tempo/zoo-decks, pretty bad against Master Oakheart pulling a Drakkari Enchanter along with a Dragonhatcher that pulls Ysera and a Sleepy Dragon on turn 5.

im not sure if i prefer that or the pirate warrior meta, druids are only getting stronger and spreading plague is just so powerful against their counter, aggro

Pretty bad, not good enough to see play in either aggro or control imo

At best, it's sorta like an Avenging Wrath on a 3/3 minion? Really depends. Could be useful, but likely a meta choice if there are a lot of 1/1s.

I'm not sure it works the same way as Avenging Wrath, the wording is different. It's worded like Meteorologist's Battlecry only hits one random enemy, otherwise, it would say "randomly split among all enemies". If so then that makes the card a lot worse.

Though it is possible that Blizzard is just being inconsistent with their wording, which has happened in the past

Either Mages spell increases your handsize and this is kinda good. Or it does something else and this is bad. 3 Arcane Missiles at best is not enough against decks that have strong board pressence.

I thought shaman was supposed to be the Meteorologist.

always thought raining fire was more of a warlock thing tho

6 mana 9 face damage seems legit

Mage is going to be trash tier this expansion if one of the cards left isn't something busted

Yeah but Goblin Blastmage was one of the most powerful cards in Mech Mage back in the day. Though I will admit that Meteorologist is definitely a worse card. 

I do agree that the comparison to Flamewaker is a poor one since Flamewaker has relatively good stats and has a continuous effect which can be repeatedly used every turn until it dies or gets silenced. However, it would be even more ridiculous to compare it to Mad Bomber and Madder Bomber since it's Battlecry only hits enemies.
