Would killing this minion with a spell in your hand activate it's deathrattle?
yes if it's the last spell in your hand
I don't think, it's necessary to build a deck around this card. You can just use it in some decks as an additional win condition, when you have no other options to end the game (for example if you can't get pass through druid wall (and druids usually can't transform or silence your minions)). Aslo, it is not completely useless on it's own, it's still 10/10 mech for 10.
So, it's a mech Faceless Behemothwith meaningless meme text, unless you're hoping to pull it from your deck with a 'draw a deathrattle minion' or to get it for free by summoning/discovering cards. Neat.
The wombo combo would be to run a Rogue, then play Mina's Unstable Element) with a lot of cheap stuff in your deck. On turn 9 you have only two cards: Necrium Blade) and Mecha'thun). You equip the weapon and hit face, and when you think your about to win the best game of your life on the next turn, your old friend ooze says hello, and now you have a 10/10 for 10. It's pretty dificult to set up, and has a heavy counter play but i think its a very fun combo. And remember to get Mecha'thun) before playing Mina's Unstable Element) unless you want a chance to discard him.
Mecha'thun needs no minions on board, but Mecha'thun will still be alive so the weapon wont work
With the exception that after triggering the deathrattle with Necrium Blade there would still be a minion on your side of the battlefield (Mecha'thun) so it wouldn't trigger, leaving you with no deck and no cards.
I don't think that combo would work anyways, since Mecha'Thun would still be on the battlefield, thus negating the Deathrattle.
My bad, the combo was not only dificult but imposible, Mecha'thun neglating Mecha'thun .
Hehahah, they can't hide forever!
Hemet, Jungle Hunter
Hemet, Jungle Hunter was my most regretted crafted legendary ever. Until now. I don't know exactly how they will work out, but this will be an excellent card to experiment with.

I think the Spiteful Summoner is going to become a deck archetype again. This and the Mulchmuncher now makes the Spiteful Druid, Priest, and Mage become even more powerful. I personally hope that they add at least 1 10-cost card that has low stats to balance that card out.
This card seems broke! Make a deck with a few low cost minions a few removal spells to live until turn 10, or pick druid and just ramp really quick and BOOM game over. Don't even fill out the deck with 30 cards!
This is amazing, I love alternate win conditions!
This will be great with the new rogue legendary spell
Finally they have a purchasable C'thun. That one must have really made devs anxious.
Not sure if this is how the mechanic works but imagine being Druid and having a discounted Mecha'thun from that 7 mana 4/4, naturalize, and king togwaggle in hand and also being your last cards.
You then play Togwaggle while keeping the other two cards in hand giving the opponent a choice between using the spell to get their deck back or start fatiguing to death not knowing what's in your hand.
More likely than not, they're gonna use the spell to get their deck back I would think that turn. And that is when, assuming you have a way to get the togwaggle to die first, you play the Mecha'thun and naturalize it ending the game. I'm assuming the condition means if YOU don't have minions on the battlefield making other minions negligible.
holy fuck you are a genious! this will work even with power overwhelming
