I like Shooting Star as an answer to agro. Unlike arcane missiles which would hit for 1 four times with +1 spell damage, giving this +1 spell damage would let you hit for six damage across three minions... Pretty effective, like a mini-Meteor.
What a second... isn't a Shooting Star a Meteor that is burning up in the atmosphere? Like, a meteorite? Mind blown.
You r mind must of had 15 or less health.
I miss pre-Stardust Cody Rhodes
This is a Solid card but I'm not sure where it fits in mage right now. On turn 10 though you can play this + Celestial Emissary + Unexpected Results and get a 4/3, 2/1, and 2x 6 Drops. As far as burn mage though I feel it's too slow, and there's too much armor gain for freeze mage to be a thing again. Shooting star is a solid anti aggro tool though. We might see a hand mage type of deck with spell damage and cheap AoE like shooting star and arcane nova.
shooting star memes intensify
Freeze mage used to run the 4 mana 2/2 with +2 spell damage. this card could see play in a simular deck, especially if druid falls off (which i heavily doubt, druid has everything right now and it only seems like it's getting better) also warrior seems to be shaping into an interesting way which is never good news for this deck. And paladin healing could become a thing. I get that ice block might have made mage too strong especially with witchwood addition but there hasn't been another suitable stall card for decks that aren't big mage. With druid getting insane stall and armour gain and being a mana cheat class it feels like there's only a couple of decks that can compete with that class. It feels like they pushed druid too far in a control direction it feels like there is no reason to play other simular classes like warrior. I would say priest too but they have psychic screen so they are gachi i guess. So yeah, hopefully they have something that can compete with druid or we're in for another boring frozen throne meta. Even warlock has been doing a decent job competing with most druid archetypes so far but hopefully they bump up the power lvl on the other classes a bit
I am, thanks.
pretty cool
Still can't figure it out what decks are they trying to push for Mage. Big Spell Mage with a lot more power in aoe? Burn Mage? Please not burn mage.
they're not always gonna push archetypes with every expansion, why cant they just release cards and let the players figure it out
Spell damage plus aoe idea finally comes together in mage
Wait a second, I know this guy. Yes, this guy is Stardust from Marvel Comics
Glad to see Blizzard taking inspiration from other media too.
I was a kid when I used to read those comics. This made me tear up a little bit
wow nice spot
That isnt how cinderstorm interact with spell power it add extra missiles not damage on the missiles so 7 in total damage. And yes i tested it before I posted this.
Its the same as arcane missiles not greater arcane missiles.
Evolved Kobold and Jungle Moonkin feel sad righ now.
those are neutral cards so i don't see any problems with class cards power creeping
Mage cards have the coolest theme so far.
It's good for burn damage when combined with cinderstorm (15 dmg) or arcane missiles. If you are lucky, at 10 mana, you can play both cinderstorm for 30 dmg, so it might see some play
Surely spell damage increases the number of missiles as opposed to making them do 3 damage each.
As a general rule of thumb, it increases whatever the numeral is. In Cinderstorm it's the 5, in Greater Arcane Missiles the first number is written as "three" and the second as "3" so it is the second number that is increased (i.e. the amount of damage dealt by each missile).
