Another candidate for corpsetaker synergy.
Weak to silence ? Not at all... you will heal yourself as soon as you play this.
Weak to silence
Sure its got some potentially good but super situational combo/healing pieces... snore. But it has no on board impact. Seriously, not even a taunt or a mech. Its a less good version of Arcane Artificer- once you hit that 30 health line, thats it, this card becomes a 2 mana 1/2 with divine shield- a card I wouldn't play. It is a card that can be ignored. And ya there are a lot of cards like that but this is a legendary card and those things are supposed to do legendary things. All I know is if this is my golden from the preorder, its a simple dust, I don't even need to think about it.
This guy should be an elemental since he literally is Hearthstone’s definition of one. (Non-living object brought to life by a spirit.)
Healadin w Bittertide Hydra
This wouldn't be printed in Priest because of Auchenai Soulpriest and Embrace the shadows probably
You play the new spell that draws you 2 1-attack minions, you draw this and Lynessa, you play this and start to buff it, maybe whit the minion that deal damage when you heal on his side, and then at the end when they're removed, you play Lynessa. That's the idea at least, we have to se if it works...
Really strange card.
No taunt like Wickerflame Burnbristle, so it's not a great save tool on it's own. No charge or rush like Chillblade Champion to get immediate value (particularly from something like Sound the Bells! or Blessing of Kings).
So it's an OK but not exceptional target for buff spells, and it's cool to play along side a healing card, or even an already equipped Truesilver Champion for a few extra life. Paladin don't often run too many other healing spells and cards. Maybe this and Benevolent Djinn is the way to go. Immediate 6 heal, with the potential to get out-of-control unless your opponent clears them off. Even then, it doesn't really excite me.
I think what irks me about it is that it's a cheap card you can't really play early. Pyros can just be slammed on turn 2. This guy? You won't have missing life enough to make it worthwhile. Maybe it sticks and you can buff it, but Paladin doesn't have a good 3-mana buff right now, so that's kind of irrelevant.
Great analysis. I love the idea of djinn + this - that seems like the most viable usage however it still doesn't seem all that viable. End of turn healing is just not a hugely game-swinging effect most of the time, and as you say this usage requires you to be playing your 2 drop on turn 5 at the earliest, and additionally requires that you play it as a 2-card combo (thus requiring that you have drawn your djinn). Overall not great at first glance.
I think it is good that it has no taunt. You can hide behind Corpsetaker/Zilliax/Paragon of Light to get the healing value. Aggro decks will kill it anyway asap, even without taunt.
Oh, I think it's probably good that it doesn't have taunt either. Taunt on this would be incredibly strong, and it'd combo very well with Stonehill Defender. But that does mean it's less instantly useful. That's the thing. This is a double-heal lifesteal minion which would be great to use immediately. However, it's nearly impossible to use this immediately, and has to be combined with other healing cards (which Paladin frequently don't play), then you have to hope this sticks to do something like buff it and really leverage the strong text.
And at the same time, it's just not a "well, I have no other plays" kind of drop. A lot of low-cost legendary minions can be tossed down willy-nilly and be... not horrible?
It's just an odd card.
I was expecting something mech related with this legendary.
I like the card. I just feel... betrayed.
I kind of like the idea of having both Legendary cards for each class having completely different build-around effects, thus pushing two distinct archetypes.
Just a prediction, but judging from what we've seen so far, the Hunter Legendary spell will likely have little to do with Deathrattle synergy. (as does Boommaster Flark).
It's a "Smith" but it doesn't give you armor. Why not giving it " Healing your hero give you armor instead"?
Good, but nothing really interesting. It can double the healing from your Lifestal minions, your 4/2 Weapon, turns to be a second Reno Jackson in wild with Forbidden Healing, and Its also a good buff target for Quest Paladin. and it seems to be a dead card in a control mirror.
Play Shrink Ray then play Crystalsmith Kangor... In the land of 1/1's, the 1/2 is king!
Or use him with Lay on Hands to get even more lay out of your hands!
Neat card. Anyone else read "Crystalmeth Kangor" instead of "Crystalsmith Kangor"?
No.
At least I hope not.
Paladin has a bunch of semi-decent healing synergies, but in order for them to work you have to take damage. It's an archetype that can be good against burn and some aggro, but can't keep up against control or combo decks. If Paladin had cards like Flame Imp, it could be awesome.
