Calling it now: Omega cards are underpowered because there's one or more synergies not yet revealed. eg Neutral card text that says something like "Omega effects always occur" or "If you're holding an Omega card" or "Trigger all Omega effects on cards in your hand."
(Wild) Priest has too much healing and annoying shit to deal with as it is, fuck off Blizz
Why would you say that last part?
Yeah. They should stop making priest cards that heal. It doesn't make sense that priest has heal cards kappa
This card might see some play, it has ok stats for a 3.drop so you can tempo it out to fight the board and then on turn 10 the 10 heal is always appreciated so it doesn't absolutely suck as a a late game top deck. This card does not use your 10 crystals right? it just checks if you have 10 but it always uses just 3 right?
Exactly, it requires 10 mana to trigger, but you only have to pay the 3 mana cost.
That card art though . . .
Looks like it belongs to HoTs or as a Starcraft easter egg. This isn’t Warcraft
Against aggro though, this card is largely pointless. If you've gotten to turn 10 against aggro, you've moreorless won already.
You don't have to use this on turn 10. It has pretty good stats for a 3 drop, so you can play it on turn 3 to fight for the board; as a 3/4 is pretty good for trading into minions, especially in a world where Tar Creeper on turn three can wreck your opponent if they draw poorly.
That's quite true, I had completely neglected its premium statline.
In the right meta, where control decks are constantly trying to beat you down over several turns, it will see play. But in most metas, greater healing potion is better. It comes out far earlier vs aggro and can be used on a minion if it is needed in the late game.
The first omega card i would consider playing. also the first not to be understated. with 3 mana 3/4 being one of the best vanilla statlines to play on-curve, i would expect this to be a viable tech card similar to greater healing potion. if played on curve it can do a decent job fighting for the board (especially with hunter spellstone around) and a great lategame stabilizer as well.
Man, I think I will hate this card in the future...
Prophet Velen and Omega Medic on turn 10+....EDIT
Scratch that, but i still think this card is gonna effect the control meta a lot, sure aggro still exists but still.
Velen only works with spells and hero powers.
Not in Standard
I'm hopeful. Priest has the tools to survive until turn ten, and if you counter the aggro with AoE + Omega Medic on turn 10, it'll be hard to come back.
Funny that people are trashing this card, in a world where Greater Healing Potion saw play. Not saying it’s great, but it can see play in the right deck or right meta.
I agree, but it's a low tier 2 (1-5, 1 being trash) at best.
The reason why this is so much worse than Greater Healing Potion is the cost.
This is a Vanilla 3/4 minion until turn 10 when game-ending combos are played. There will be edge cases where an aggro game gets to turn 10 and you play this to get out of lethal, but very rarely will 10 HP and a 3/4 minion on turn 10 ever turn the tide in your favor.
I see this card being played the first week maybe and then never seeing the light of competitive day....... unless some serious synergy is introduced, A LA a legendary like "Any healing your hero receives deals that much to your opponent" or some silliness like that.
Depends on the kind of deck. I played double Greater Healing Potion in Big Priest, but I'd want zero part of a 3/4 for 3 in that deck. I can see this being OK, though. 3/4 for 4 is a good stat minion for Priest, and late game this can close the door.
Also seems solid in Arena. Good body on curve, and the Omega effect on it also seems strong there. A big 10 HP swing changes the math significantly if your opponent decides to just race late game.
