@Minibassada Yeah, but a treant, in definition, is a fictional anthropomorphic organism having many characteristics of a tree. Ancients, according to WoW Wiki, are demi-god trees.
@finniggan So you're telling me this ain't a treant?
You know what? With these new cards, Treant should become a new minion type.
But they're all 2/2s and virtually all identitcal except for the Living Mana treants, which have a deathrattle. They're like silver hand recruits; they don't have a tribe because the minions aren't diversified; they may have different art, but they're basically all the same. As such, if they are named treant, that's enough.
Unless they're gonna make new treants with different statlines and abilities, you're basically asking for a tribe with only two minions: Treants, and the Living Mana treants.
Just like silver hand recruits...
You're telling me this ain't a treant?
It should be, but it's not in the game, hence my logic holds. However, if they make it a tribe, then yes, saplings should be treants. As it stands now, treants are all 2/2s.
Wouldn't surprise me to see a card like 4 mana 2/5: Your treants have rush.
If a Mana Treant counts because that makes sense, then other "obvious" Treants like Ironbark Protector should count. Once you include the tokens from Living Mana, you're saying Treant is a tree race, not a specific token called Treant.
I don't think any of the tree people are in danger of busting the meta in half (there are, after all, better options for 8/8 Taunt guys), and the push for consistent flavor and mechanical behavior makes me feel pretty strongly that Treant should be a tribe.
I seed what you did there.
Okay, I'll leaf now.
god xd
I actually like pseudotribe thing. Imagine a card that interacts with, let's say... hmmm... all knights. I mean all cards that have "knight" in the name. Sgould be doable as long as usage of the word knight is consistent across all languages
Needs a 1 mana spell that summons a 2/2 treant if this is to go anywhere.
They are really scrapping the bottom of the barrel with the ideas (treants?!?) in this expansion. Not sure how much leg this game has left. Simplicity of the game is both a boon and a curse.
Just what Token Druid needed.
Tree New Druid Cards.
We need treant tag! That s why MTG and Tes L, has tag for everything, coz it will be usefull someday.
I mean, all possible Treants: Cenarius, Volcanic Lumberer, Ironbark Protector, Splitting Festeroot. Splintergraft. Ancient of Lore, Ancient of War, Ancient of Blossoms, Force of Nature, Living Mana, Rotten Applebaum, Soul of the Forest, Poison Seeds, Ironwood Golem, Witchwood Apple, Living Roots, Forbidden Ancient.
And maybe this Treants too, not sure: Walnut Sprite, Nightmare Amalgam.
See, a lot of possible Treants, need answer from Blizzard.
Some of those listed by you are Ancients, not treants.
