Do you always say it "12th of July" or do you sometimes say "July 12th" or "July the 12th?" Because if you ever say it the other two ways, your argument is invalid. Also, I notice that our measurement of time isn't in your nice little infographic. We don't measure time with nice, round 100 second minutes and 100 minute hours and 10 hour days and 10 day weeks and 10 week months and 10 month/1000 day years do we? DO WE? Imperial measurement of space is more consistent with the measurement of time everyone uses. And, by the way, Fahrenheit is more accurate because it uses smaller degrees and is therefore more granular and it's simpler because it doesn't compel you to use decimals/fractions of degrees. Get over yourselves; it's all arbitrary anyway.
P.S. Just because a majority of people do things a certain way or believe a certain thing, doesn't make it right. History should make that pretty apparent.
@ScorchHellfire -"Do you always say it '12th of July' or do you sometimes say 'July 12th' or 'July the 12th?' Because if you ever say it the other two ways, your argument is invalid."
You're correct but, as you can see, the people who say Americans are so stupid and stubborn are stupidly and stubbornly downvoting you instead of countering any point you made. I've never seen an American become half as rude as non-Americans tend to become on this topic.
People need to stop acting like one is "wrong" and the other is "right." Like you said, it's arbitrary and there are reasons for both.
What does it mean? Is the expansion... fruit themed? No, probably not. There's a blue aura on the hand, maybe that means something, but it's incredibly hard to read anything from this.
The only thing indicating that it might be an expansion announcement, besides the level of hype and secrecy, is the timing. Last year's August expansion Knights of the Frozen Throne was announced on July 6.
I see the value in both DDMMYY and YYMMDD. But MMDDYY is a complete mystery to me.
mmddyy is the most logical one. You know what month it is then day then year. You wouldn't it's 59:2 o'clock would you
i almost choked in such stupid argument. i dont care about how ppl use it but saying its more logical is crazy. ORDER is and always will be more logical hence increasing the "size" IS the logical path. So first the small one which is DAY then the middle one which is MONTH and finally the bigger one which is YEAR.
Dont bother replying with some frivoulous fantasy argument you might cook up. Either way I will grab some popcorns just in case you decide on pursuing such ludicrous endeavour
explain time then. Is it logical to say 59:2 o'clock? No it isn't
you most certainly wouldn't say 2:59 o'clock though
you'd say 2:59
besides
if we're using a 24 hour clock 2 is just 2x60 = 120 and is therefore bigger i.e. 120 minutes and 59 minutes. it's just grouped up for shorthand. methods of measuring time were essentially standardized according to a babylonian base60 system: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sexagesimal this way of measuring time is intuitive for humans because it allows them to order and structure their lives in ways they can break down into memorable chunks using the brains that we have. as it is we don't break down our hours into seconds, because it would be impossible for us to conceptualize 3600 seconds unless we understood the passing of a minute, or 2 minutes, or 5 minutes, or 10 minutes, or 30 minutes.
this is different from counting and measuring volumes and masses or lengths. human beings don't exactly have the most accurate and intuitive ways of measuring these things apart from a sense of touch and sight. by creating a shorthand for length that is consistent across all units and able to be understood intuitively using a simple mathematical conversion we can understand to some degree the lengths and weights and other units we use in science/everyday life. the imperial system doesn't let you do this because you have to memorize what each length is and you have to remember multiple conversion factors in order to understand these units. going from smallest to largest or largest to smallest is an intuitive method of understanding. while the imperial system does this to some degree, it doesn't do it in a way where you can look at it and immediately understand what the common factor is.
in terms of time, however, month-day-year has absolutely no intuitive basis. it is simply common in some parts due to habit and/or language. people copy other people. whoever decided to use month-day-year started a fashion, i guess. it makes more sense, and is exactly as easy to say, 12th of july vs. july 12th.
@ZBelialZ - "oh and 'mmddyy is the most logical one'.LOGICAL one?HOW is that logical.Dude please tell me u are a troll. You have to be one because if you aren't then you might as believe the earth is flat"
Because that's how we speak. "Today is July 5, 2018." OF COURSE it's logical to follow that pattern! It's also logical to put it in the other order. Stop acting like one is "wrong" and the other is "right." And stop being incredibly rude.
I meant to craft alot of shit but I found out this is just a teaser for a gathering BUT they are doing some maintenance tomorrow so hopefully they at least announce a new xpansion soon. Blizz normally announce's / release's around the second week of a month right?
I really think this is dalaran expansion, the purple portal thing looks very kirin tor to me. And when you run around dalaran the tree vendor near silver enclave sometimes throws an apple at you and it shows up in your bag.
Oh my bad, sorry guys!

How is he correct?
Gee, what a surprise, you people proved my point. Buried and with zero counter-arguments. Your pseudo-elitist attitude about date stamps is insane.
@ramseydk - Factually. It is said a certain way by Americans so it is logical for the numbers to match that way, for Americans.
I was thinking Dalaran when I seen it was magic themed. it makes most sense to me.
I like the idea that it could be Draenor though as well and that it's some kind of portal (I have not played tons of WoW though)

That's what i saw in my email
Not an onion tho :D
Am I the only one seeing Shrek's hand?

I was JUST about to spend my 13k dust on crafting new cards but now it looks like I'll have to wait a week.
yes but witchwood will be for next year if you mean u craft witchwood

The next expansion obviously somehow connected with ethereals, becouse cmon. Compare location of circles on the picture and the ethereal portal.
Next question - what is this green hand all about?
I agree now you've shown me that. I thought it would be magic in some way as it was purple anyway though :D
also
It's a green hand holding a peach. maybe the peach is significant?
