Standard Budget Hearthstone Decks for Laddering in The Witchwood
Yesterday we featured five decks for end of season ladder climbing that were crazy expensive, so today we're turning that around and finding some of the cheapest ways to gain that rank! Today's decks are brought to us by two community members, kiwiinbacon and Jeleniowatyy, who have both been hard at work finding ways to play Hearthstone without emptying your wallet.
We're using the term budget decks for any deck that comes in at under 1600 dust (no legendaries). We feel this dust number isn't out of reach for even new players and will give you enough meat to give you a solid deck that is capable of greatness.
Budget Emerald Hunter
Secrets are cheap and effective in the Hunter class, especially when paired with your core of Lesser Emerald Spellstone. Great board clear potential, even better board presence, and a lot of different ways you could morph this deck into something more expensive since so many of these cards are used in meta Hunter decks.
If you have Deathstalker Rexxar, throw him into the mix!

Budget Token Druid
The wonderful part about token decks is that they have the potential for some serious value. When paired with buff cards like those that Druids have access to, you end up with a recipe for success. If you enjoy this deck, you can make it better by making use of some tips within the deck guide or by checking out other Token Druid decks here.

Budget Aggro Shaman
This Aggro Shaman deck makes use of the Overload mechanic thanks to synergy from Unbound Elemental. This paired with very cheap ways to overload yourself give you a nice midgame push against your opponent while controlling the board. There are a lot of great ways to improve this deck, which you can learn more about in the guide.

Budget Aggro Warrior
Warrior is definitely not in the best of places right now but there's enough power here to get yourself some wins while building up your card collection for future Warrior play. There are a ton of Classic cards here which makes them all very safe crafts considering that they're always going to be available in the Standard rotation. Give it a shot!

"Standard Budget Hearthstone Decks for Laddering in The Witchwood"
The aggro shaman deck seems to actually work
Budget decks are typically the cheapest, and the fastest way to climb. Control decks require a lot of rares/epics because they are high value. Control decks typically have the luxury of cycling through their deck (i.e Priests, Warlocks, etc) They are also expensive because they are greedy. Lyra the Sunshard will grant you a random priest spell for every priest spell you use; if Lyra was a common or even a rare, she would be abused to no end.
We ALL have to play archetypes we do not enjoy. For example, I had the dust to craft an Even Warlock. I still need some serious practice with it, but is it my preferred style of play? No, it isn't. I don't like cheating out big minions and going face. With Guldan as a finisher, I sometimes feel bad for ignoring my opponents board, especially if I can tell they are new!
I like tempo, and mid-range the most. I use Spell Hunter as well. I opened Rhokdelar, and crafted Rexxar because I happened to open the weapon. The nature of F2P is utilizing what you have to attain what you want.
A second point is why should a F2P player have the same access and luxuries as a P2P player? The answer is, they shouldn't. They pay for having an advantage, and the benefits.
Neither side is right or wrong - it is all personal preference. However, players need to acknowledge the handicap that comes with remaining F2P; its going to take time to build a collection and resources.
If Control is your style of play, then it is going to cost a little more. You can use budget aggro/midrange to attain your resources and build the control decks you want, but, as a brand new F2P, competitive control decks are costly and you're not going to get one just by installing the app.
They had to put a monkey wrench in there somewhere because Blizzard is still a business.
TL;DR: F2P players have to be patient and gather resources because control decks are expensive. It is the nature of being F2P.
Warrior isn't really in that bad of place when you consider who good Quest Warrior is atm, right?
"Dust needed: 0" for all but one deck. Now THAT'S actual budget! Thanks!
Good synergistic decks with easily-accessible cards. Well done Hearthpwn.
at least you guys look after the F2P player and allow them to try budget decks. Doing a better job than Blizzard
Anyone who wants to try the budget miracle or warrior decks listed here, they are both inexplicably missing Hench-Gang Clan, which is currently one of the strongest commons in the standard format. Also keep in mind that budget decks need to be fiddled with a bit more regularly to combat the current meta...you can make these replacements with commons and such but just be conscious of every card in your deck; budget decks have no room for filler.
The card he speaks of is Hench-Clan Thug, but yes, it's a fairly significant omission.
INDEED!
I would agree that in pretty much any rogue deck, Hench-Clan Thug can find its place, but for that warrior deck with "only" 4 weapons ... nah. There r plenty of good 3-drops in there already that dont rly require any other combo piece(s) (frothing technically does, but thats a completely different story).
The comment section, once again, starts with stuff that makes me shake my head.
Hearthpwn posts all high end, top meta decks with dust costs of 7-13k. "OMG HearthPwn, where's the budget decks?!"
Hearthpwn takes the time to collect budget decks to help those with less dust. "LOL, how would this stand up to the meta?!"
Never gonna please everybody. I know it should be obvious by now, but it never ceases to amaze me.
i wonder how u stand against (taunt druid , even warlock etc) all meta decks with these crap :D
We have a full Timmy meta. It's the biggest cancer ever x_X... I played HS since open beta with no pause - but now it's the first time I take a real break from the game, because I can't eat enough for how much I have to puke because of this fu**ing control meta!
obviously, making control decks with commons and rares is not possible
I know that... just was thinking out-loud... ^^
It's considerably more difficult. A lot of the game's strongest control pieces are of Epic rarity or higher.
plus the hunter is more a midrange archtype in particular if u fit there the thundra rhyno and rexxar
budget === ( aggro ) ?
